2016 Silverado LTZ - Flowmaster 40 Install with or w/o resonator?????

So I just created an account specifically for this question. I just purchased a brand new 2016 Silverado 1500 crew cab and its awesome. The first thing I wanted to do was get a little bit beefier exhaust on it without breaking the bank. I just swapped out the stock exhaust for a Flowmater 40 series and it sounds a bit better but not quite what I was looking for. I don't want anything crazy but I thought it would have a bit more to it than it does.

My question is - If I remove the resonator will it make a big difference? Like I said I'm a bit bummed that it didn't make it that much louder so I am just curious if anyone else has ran into this. Thanks!

I have the 40s on mine. Cat back dual, no res of course. Sounds great. Not super loud but I wanted to leave room for the headers to not be crazy loud.

If you just changed the muffler's, yes there will be quite a difference taking off the res.

What size did you get? I wanna do Super 10 muffler swap but wondering if I should get 2.5" or 3".

If FlowMaster doesn't work out for you, the Borla S-Type sounds great on the 5.3L. No drone.

Ive had the borla s type and flowmaster super 40 catbacks, to me the flowmaster sounds best. Just deeper and more satisfying to me. Gutted the 3rd cat and its perfect to my ears! Going to have everything welded next week, i still get the occasional exhaust leak with the bolt on kit....
