Full time fog lights

Has anyone built a logic circuit to turn on the fog lights whenever the lights are on (low or high beam)? I started looking at the upfitter diagrams and there is no relay control for the lights, but there is a control.. it is a logic high with the lights off and goes low when lights are on. I was thinking of installing a relay with b+ and the logic of this light circuit making up the coil. Then switching b+ on the NO side of the relay and the common to the fog lights relay control.

 

Anyone do this yet or know of an easier way to make this work? Ideally I would like a 2-4-6 (fog, low/fog, high/fog ) option like the old body style trucks.

Most do the diode mod. 4hi or 6hi. There's a bunch of threads on here about it.

 

I believe gen5diy has a harness that diverts your drls to the fogs.

Cbr, I have not been able to find this mod you are talking about. The old 6hi mod is exactly what I am looking for but the k2xx chassis is completely different as there is no relay in the fuse box for the lights. If anyone has any info on this running light mod, can you send me a link? I do not want the fogs on with my dlrs.. only when the headlights are on (and I do not want the auto high beam option disabled when they are on)

When you're down there adding a diode, you can add one to make your cargo lights come on with your reverse lights and make your bed leds come on with the key fob at night. I love that on my truck

This mod only talks about installing diode to make the fog lights come on with the high beams. I want them on all the time when the lights are on and not interfere with the auto high beam assist..

Once you do the MOD, you push the button to turn them on like normal. With the MOD they stay on with high beams on.

 

Other than that MOD I haven't seen one that keeps them on all the time.

 

Yeah I did that one as well. That's helpful for those early morning boat launches during duck season.

I have mine going to the running lights/side marker lights. I can still use the button to run just fogs and when my headlights turn on my fogs light up. When i switch to high beams the fogs lows and highs all come on. The fogs wont come on with DRL , has to be full headlight on when side markers are also on, then fogs automatically come on too.

 

Is that what you're looking for?

This is almost what I am looking for and might be good enough. Where did you make this connection?

 

I do use my parking lights when I pull my camper in the day and not sure I want the fogs on during that but might not be the end of the world.

Mr. Nasty, that worked well. I just wish it was not on when the only the running lights are on. I find it rude to roll into a dark campground with lights on. I might need to do the relay thing I planned in the earlier thread but I am very close. Thank you.

No problem, now you can use that until you get the relay worked out the way you want it.
