nhbackcountry155 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Have a 5.3L 2015 Ran with a Borla S-Type (removed flapper and resonator) for 2 weeks now and just cannot get over how bad the V4 sounds. V8 is mint which is a drag. Ordered the GM-Borla kit that has the valve to control drone/helicopter noise. QUESTION: has anyone installed this kit, then swapped out the muffler for an S-type?

You have the full catback Borla S-Type? Or just muffler? I have the full set w/ Air Raid MIT Tube and I get zero drone in V4.
Bigfoot16 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I got mine from Auto anything for a little less than the Summit price...I called and talked with an operator and was able to do better than the published price.
wksetter Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Do you do anything to the valve to get rid of the helicopter noise? I see it is spring loaded, but cant turn or pull it out anymore?
Sean D Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 Any Black Friday deals?? The only one I see is 4wheel parts no sales tax and free shipping $999.99 out the door
Hdwrguy Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 (edited) Guys, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Borla S-Type exhaust for my 2014 Z71 Silverado. I took it to a local shop as I didn't want to do this in my driveway. However, when it came time to mount the left exhaust hangar that Borla provides, I did not have a hole in my frame like the video shows. We ended up drilling a hole but the exhaust sticks out too far. Any suggestions? Btw, it sounds sick!! Edited June 3, 2022 by Hdwrguy
3tspapat Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 Sounds like you got duals out the back? Make sure all of the connections are fully seated. If still too far out then just cut the pipe. Not sure why it would be sticking out too far as the last pipe section is supposed to still be under the bed and what sticks out are the exhaust tips...unless it's for a longer bed.
