I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my 2016 Silverado. I don't want a loud exhaust because I use my phone in the car a lot. Any suggestions?

Mine is perfect. All I did was Muffler swap. To a borla 40085. I kept the rear resonator

I don't know how to do that. I'm not good with computers and stuff. This forum is about what I can do

I wanted quiet. I hate loud. And I love it. Maybe I could send it to you on the phone

That's fine by me...whenever you get a chance, send me a private message? Thanks!

I don't care for loud either. I recently put a borla complete on a customer '17 6.2. Sounded great to me. Nice low rumble. Very Expensive though.

You get very minimal gains with a $1k catback system. Just swap mufflers for more tone. I went with the Borla GMPP Sport muffler with the resonator cut out and flapper clamped open. Perfect. Not loud, but nice growl on startup and accelleration.

I did headers and a catless y pipe on mine, it is a little louder than stock on a cold start but after it heats up it sounds basically stock unless you put your foot in it. I imagine if you did headers with cats it would be even quieter but you would still have great performance gain.

Did you keep the "flapper" valve for the V4 operation so it keeps the drone out when going to V4 operation?

Flapper is out. With how quiet the muffler is, you won't notice it

Really?

I called Borla and they told me if you remove the flapper there will be some drone when it goes to V4 mode as it's that flapper that shuts when in V4 mode and removes the drone and keeps the EPA happy.

What I don't know is if I replace the stock Muffler with there Borla one and keep the flapper in there, will the flapper work properly or will there be issues? I didn't ask Borla directly, foolishly enough, but when I told him I wouldn't want the drone, he advised me to order the Performance Exhaust System from GM directly. It's listed as $1,195 however. He said it's made by Borla but is specially made to work with the Active Fuel Management system so there is no drone when going to V4 mode.

But that's a lot of coin for what it is and figure there will probably be another $200 for an install somewhere.

I just want a bit more growl but not annoying and no drone.

There is no reason to upgrade the exhaust unless you want more noise.

So saying you want the quietest upgraded exhaust is sort of confusing.

I think what he means is the same as I desire.

The stock 6.2 liter's exhaust is near silent, basically nothing.

It would be nice to have a BIT of sound, but not be loud, so if he's like me he's saying he'd like the "quietest" catback system that will add some sound but not an obnoxious growl or drone all the time.
