Aftermarket Sub w/ Bose Package

I have a 2016 Silverado with the split bench and the bose package (so my understanding is that there is no bose sub since I have the bench seat).

I want to add an aftermarket sub and I've been looking at a single or dual JL audio setup that sits under the rear seats. I've noticed with certain "custom" packages, like the Kicker set made for our trucks, that some advertise "Not compatible with the Bose option". Are there any special considerations when adding aftermarket subs to a new truck with the bose stereo?

Also, I'm pretty adept technically and may do the install myself if it's not too involved, otherwise I'll save myself some time and have a shop do it. Any idea what all you have to tap into in order to do it? Easily accessible wires, or do you have to disassemble the dash?

You can get the Kicker add on with just the subwoofer and it will work great.

The Kicker with the subwoofer & amp will not work with your Bose system...since it already has it's own amp.

I have the Kicker sub from GM with Bose. Works just fine!

I'm sure it sounds good, but it would be cheaper and have better quality by choosing a different sub and amp. Isn't the kicker sub only 200w?

Yes probably cheaper and louder! Just depends what you want. I wanted a stock look with just a little added bass.

I have two jl 12's under the rear seat and they slam. Its the shallow mount ones. Once I found the right signal....from amp behind seat, they sound really great.

Now I think I'm going to see about replacing the bose sub, using the same signal. Going to mount an amp to drive the sub under console on the back wall with the rest of my Amps and hook new amp output into the factory sub speaker wires.

Anyone know if the stock amp will lock out if I disconnect via anti clip or noise cancellation? I would only have it running to two PAC loc's to power my jl Amps that are driving the woofers. Just looking to add an 8" under the console to accompany the shallow mount 12s

I do have the bose with sub but I put a JL 13 TW5 in a subthump box, JL Audio HD 500, and DSP processor. The bose system remained fully intact and it sound great. The sub fits on one half the passenger side under the back seat and the amp / processor are behind the back seat on the driver side. Sub bass control know near the dash area to adjust bass volume as needed. More bass than I can handle for sure. If you have 6.2L you will need to disengage the ANC otherwise you should be good to go.
