Dosent matter what they do iam very confident my next truck won't be a gm. I feel they are just followers not leaders and it is obvious in every way.

They're never going to top the F-150 anyhow. Better off to just focus on making a good product.

Something I wanted to add and get perspective on from you folks- A board of directors. Stock Holders. What kind of demands and say do they have and how do they influence the company for better or for worse... Making the most $$$ possible seems to be the number 1 priority according to them, that at least is the impression I get.

Isn't that what a business is supposed to do? Right or wrong that is why they do what they do. Can't fault them for that

We all got to be careful here or we might confuse GM corporate. The mere mention of truck that is sporty and fun to drive ? Their marketing department says we all want luxury and comfort. Surely they don't want trucks that were fun to drive like we built from 1968 to 1971 with a big block 396 do they ?

Unfortunately in some case their hands are tied. To much government intervention (cafe, safety, etc) nowadays ruins all the fun

Their hands are not tied anymore than the rest of the mfg;s tho. Ford offers the Raptor again plus the Shelby. On a lesser note Ram has the Rebel. Hell GM won;t even offer the 6.2 in a rcsb. GM corporate idea of sporty truck would be put a moon roof in it and a couple stripes on the hood .

Not much of anything, this comes from a guy who's owned the 5.7 and 6.5 diesel. One of the first thing people learn when they run or own a business is you can't please everyone. I've owned most brands they're all about the same, no one tries to build an inferior product. There is lots of folks that can't be pleased no matter what you do. Just read around the websites.

lol i have to say the people who are complaining or saying GM is lacking probably never bought and drove anything new back in the late 70's and all of the 80's. GM has made leaps and bounds in improving their entire line since then.

Shelbys are straight from Fords factory?

No not from factory but thru their relations with Shelby. But do believe fully warrantied by Ford and sold thru your friendly Ford dealer . Raptor comes from Ford assembly bumper to bumper I believe.

GM isn't any different than other manufacturers. Remember Ford blaming Firestone for rollovers or the VW emissions cover up? They all hit at different times without exception. I worked in the Mitsubishi plant in Normal Illinois for 14 years and the fixes we were making on the line to make up for engineering mistakes were an every day occurrence.

Got to give GM corporate some recognition too tho. I may be wrong but their profit and cash reserves the last few years have been better than quite awhile in recent history. I will also add that without question I believe GM could build a couple versions of a sport truck that would be a top contender in the blink of a eye if they chose. Obviously building what there building is very profitable for them as it is. Maybe if another mfg answered to the raptor the small market would not make sense for more than one mfg.

You don't have to be self employed to know that you can't please everyone.

I like GM trucks for several reasons over other brands. That's why I don't care whether other brands are the same or not.

Yes, Gm trucks have come a long way. But we still have to deal with rusting frames, clunking transmissions and oil burning engines.

That's a step back, or a step to the side to say the least. But not a step forward.

so long
