Have a 2015 Silverado and one of my right rear taillight sockets already corroded to the point that it doesn't work. Looks like the wheel well liners don't cover enough to keep water and dirt off the housing. Anyone else have this issue?

Yep just had the wiring harness replaced, mine was left side tho.

Did the dealership cover it under warranty? Truck only has 23k miles. Taking it in Friday. Hope the dealer covers it.

The housing sizes and mountings appear identical in the '16. At 8 months of use had to pull both housings to run the wiring conduit to install bedlight LEDs. All lights work, no evidence of moisture intrusion or corrosion.

There is no moisture in my tail lights either. I think it's just cheep material. I wouldn't be surprised if a recall is in our future.

Dealerships replacing the harness but they are not sure when it's going to be in. From what I can understand is they are back ordered from gm. Have a feeling a recall soon if that's the case.

I had to drive 50 miles just to find the mini J fuses for my trailer lights and none that I could tell besides just the socket itself had some condensation on it.

TSB? No way as this is a safety issue. Tail lights are required and if there is a possibility that they fail due to crappy piss poor overseas inferior products due to cost savings attempts, then it will be a recall. If I had a light out because of this and the police pulled me over and gave me a ticket, I would force GM to pay for that ticket (if I had to keep driving waiting for a part).

GM has no shame in penalizing their vendors if they give them crap products for safety issues, even if it is their own fault for sourcing and not properly testing the products. Hopefully it becomes a lesson learned for them through this as every recall is a blemish and costs them potential buyers.

My '14 has already had 3 recalls and one item fixed for a TSB (which is now a recall). Pretty sad.

Did you take your truck to your dealership with a taillight not working and they sent you away?
