TPMS Reset Tools

I took the wheels off that came on the truck when I bought it and replaced them with wheels that match the code in the glove box. I took off a set of factory 18" wheels and put on a set of factory 20" wheels. Today on my way to work, 40 miles, about 15 miles into the trip, the dash readings went away and I got the orange low tire symbol on the dash. The new wheels supposedly have TPMS in them.

Those of you that have bought the TPMS tools, what tool did you buy and where did you buy it from? Can you recall what you paid for it also? I have wanted to buy one of these tools but just have not done it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eddie

I also have the EL-50448 OECT5 GM reset tool and found it on eBay too. I have only used it once so far and it worked great.

Just FYI -- the "official" GM tool is the Kent-Moore EL-50448 mentioned above.

There are also others on the market but that is the one that the dealers buy. Here are the instructions as well as info on the higher model GM recommends if you need to do diagnostics:

It is only $45 at tpmstoolshop but I think they may be in China:

Only $36 here (but definitely from China and probably a knock-off):

Has anyone successfully used the 'EL-50448 OECT5 GM reset tool' on a 2016 or 2017 Silverado 1500 to reset their TPMS sensors? I ask because every description on EBay for that tool model says it only works up to 2013 vehicles. Thanks!

Just used it on my 2016 two weekends ago works fine.

The one I have I bought in 2012.

I might have to pick one of these up. I did not like doing the reset procedure on my 06 Avalanche.
