Brake rotors

How are the duralife rotors working out for everyone? Mine keep warping, they have been reground twice once at 10k and again at 27k. Now I'm at 32k and they are warped again. Should these be recut or replaced?

Mine have a little warp too

Thought it was pad deposits at first, but won't go away

I thought the same thing the first time. I wonder if this treatment process is simular to case hardening)? if it is than by resurfacing the rotors they have taken the hardened surface off.

Yeach it's still has bumper to bumper on it. I'll be calling them in the am.

Once they are wrapped they are always wrapped. Turning them will help temporarily, but the shake will return. Replace them, and make sure not to over tighten your lug nuts. This was an issue on my 08.

Highly doubt the dealer will cover them under warranty as brakes and rotors are a wear item.

Yeah lol I just thought of that.

On my 2000 I had a dealer cover rear brakes at 18k miles. They were toast. At 48k I did another rear change. Never touched the fronts

Rear brakes must have been dragging? Usually they'll outlast the fronts by a long shot.

Replace them, I never get rotors turned, only replace them. You've had it done twice, they are at the low end of spec I'm sure

Nope the rear disc design and harsh weather (salt/snow/etc) created the wear. The ended up added a shield to help a few years later

One main reason why they went to rear drum brakes again mid 2000s

Yeah that's what I was thinking, both times the dealership did it under warranty. I'm going to call and see were it gets me.

Doesn't gm make a performance brake upgrade for our trucks?

If they do you'll be paying out the rear end for it lol

Wow. That is very very short life. Mine has 35k and no signs of warping. My dads 99 Z71 rcsb has 120k and the brakes have never been touched. No issues at all.
