Again, throw a new filter in there and put dryer sheets where i mentioned earlier and see if there is any change.

MY 2 CENTS.

We have a rural mountain home with no garage.

From past experience, defiantly mice, rodent. The cure is to find out where they are getting in. My situation was a grommet in the firewall that had been removed when I had a stereo installed. The mice would get into the cab through this hole then enter the HVAC system via the floor vent.

I will suggest putting a mouse trap in the cab when at the parents baited with peanut butter. This could be the same mouse and once killed may stop.

Never leave anything in the cab as a food source. They were even attracted to a tissue that I had blown my nose on, ate the dried buggers on the tissue along with the tissue they were on. Ate a hole in the tissue right where the buggers were.

Ok if this a rodent problem why is the exaxt same spot twice plus within a week. Not to mention my fan is worn down evenly on the back side (cant tell if its all like that?) also no food is kept in the truck due to a 60lb puppy dog.

Also why this truck i had used ones in the past 96 ram 2500 247k miles 3rd owner kept outside 90% of its life. No issues expect for paint. 2011 ram 1500 88k miles only issues was paint. (All 3 trucks has been parked in the same location when i go to dads)

Plus i am still wanting to see a intact air box housing.

I am swimming upstream also would the dealer give me crap about not having my filter in? My reason being it could make the fan work harder, which could mess up my fan. I noticed that before with the old filter fan wouldn't blow as strong.

I also googled rodent damage and its not consistent, they chew in multiple spots, and they leave liquid and crap behind. Why is it mine doesnt have that and it smells fine.

Also another one, dads work chevy its an 06 3500 gets parked at the barn which has feed in it, etc he hasnt had any problems.

Could rough roads cause it? But i cant recall if i had the fan on or not.

How about this, why dont you tell us what you think the issue is? The fan is rubbing on the filter? The dealer installed the wrong filter housing in your truck? i already answered those questions for you. It would be very noticeable if the filter was caught in the fan. Same with if the filter box was catching on the fan. You're asking for someone to rip apart their system to show you what the filter case looks like. I would go on youtube and search for 2104 Silverado filter change....plenty of videos. Then i would go to the same dealer you took it to before and tell them the same problem exists and that you think they put the wrong parts in.

I already did plus looking at rodent damage on google its not consistent, the damage mine has is consistent or very close to it. See i am swimming up river on this,

So how is my fan worn down evenly on each blade?

If rodent damage why doesn't it hit my dads truck or moms car? They are there every day.

The first damage ok I would have believe its rodent damage

Second time a week later with the same results i am thinking its something else.

Well youtubed filter change and had no results. Couldn't get the answers i wanted. Its simple to take off 4 screws and a couple of clips

I will make this suggetion again,

Put a baited mouse trap in the cab overnight, on the floor will do they will find it if they are getting in the cab.

As suggested, something has to be collapsing the filter for it to get into the fan IMO.

So what do you think it is?

Truck is a year old and up until now had never been to dads? Or it's been to dads many times and this just started.

IMO the parts have to be the correct parts or they would not fit when they put them in.

Dads many of times pretty much every weekend and i got the truck last march so why now?!

I dont know thats why am asking yall if its rodent damage why is it the exact same place plus no trace of rodent droppings or urine?

Starting to think asking this forum was not a great idea.

Been following this out of curiosity. All I can say is what do you have to loose by putting a mouse trap in the floor board. Either it will catch something or it won't either watch it is cheap to do to answer the rodent or not question.
