2500HD power steering fluid

Are you guys using power steering fluid or ATF ? All the videos I have watched guys are using ATF but the amsoil website recommends power steering fluid

Wanna do a good flush.

Hi Matt, keep in mind you are flushing your reserve, cooler and your BRAKES ( Hydroboost) when you do this.. make sure you have enough.. I use PS fluid, its clear and seems better with the hydro boost in cooler weather.

Definitely use PS fluid. I found some synthetic PS fluid, but it seems to be discontinued now (at least the brand I bought), most likely because most people just buy the regular stuff.

 

I would only use ATF if it was an emergency situation (need to fill it up, but only atf is available).

About how much did you use for the flush ?

The amsoil fully synthetic comes in 16oz bottles

I'm happy to hear you are going to do a flush. It's very important in promoting longevity.

When I flushed the system in my '04 Sierra, I used up a 4L (about 4 quarts) container of it.

Mattymax, I would use PSF. since it is part of your bakes. I can get a quote out to you if you PM me your ship to address. If you wanted to get the 4qts like posted above that one individual accomplished his with that would be 8 bottles of AMSOIL.
