Tuning a 2017 GMC?? encrypted?or complications with tuning?

Anyone heard the '17 GMC's are encrypted and you cant tune them? cant use hp tuners? heard of any complications?

The 8spd trans control is locked out and no one has figured out how to aftermarket tune a GM 8spd trans yet. It is possible that GM has locked the 2017 engine management system also? If they keep doing this they MUST program in driver adjustable modes (sport etc) as the stock tune for engine and trans are crappy fuel miser settings very frustrating

I thought 15 and 16 8spd are tunable? 17 for sure is locked.

hmm.. i had a shop lift and tune my 17 6.2.. they said it was locked.. then said they figured it out.. i picked up.. felt more powerful but started making a vibrating like noise in the middle of the rpm range. in park or driving.. not with smooth acceleration but it does if you blip the throttle or jump on it..

didnt sound like detonation to me.. sounded like metal on metal vibrating or something..

I bought back of course

did 6" lift, 20x10 with 35s, cai, tune.

If they did it wouldn't really surprise me. However, someone will eventually figure it out, unless Apple helped GM encrypt the computer then we might all be screwed.

Hypertech has an in-line module for speedometer calibration only that works on the 2017's. But you have to remove the gauge cluster to plug it in. Here's the install instructions: http://hypertech.com/ProductManuals/inlinespeedo/730124_VSS_Instlltn_Prcdr.pdf

HAHAHA, I would be very surprised if GM would dish out cash for that. Apple is not giving encryption lessons on that level for free.
