2017gmcsierraslt Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Hey All, After lurking around here for a month or so and reading post, I decided to order a new 2017 DC 4x4, 6.2 liter, with the max tow package, slt premium and preferred package in a stone blue metallic paint. I had the dealer include the 4.5 inch zone lift and some 33x12 tires to go on the stock 20" rims. My last 2 trucks I got I kinda settled and got them even tho they didnt have the things I didnt or did want because they were in inventory and I didnt have to order. I drove each one for 10yrs or so then sold and got a new one. Super stoked and looking forward to the new rig!!
michigan2500hd Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 That's a awesome combo! Can't figure out why GM doesn't market and manufacture more with the 6.2. Best engine I've driven in a truck. Had about 108,000 miles on mine and for the most part trouble free. Gas has cost me as much as the truck though lol. Looking for a lightly used set up like you just bought. Congrats on the new ride. Krusty Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Congrats. I would say you should have it in 2 months time. I ordered 1/24 and it is supposed to be here 3/10. Although my CCSB 6.2L max tow is coming from sunny Mexico. Yours will be coming from Indiana.........

2017gmcsierraslt Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 Which dealer and what's the price at order time? What are you getting for mpg? I ordered it locally from a dealer here on the coast, in Oregon. The cost is 54k and that includes the lift.
2017gmcsierraslt Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 Just heard the word that my rig is code 4200 and shipped on the 3/27 they also said it is on a rail car from Indiana heading to Portland Oregon. I got the last 8 of my VIN. Super excited. I know when I purchased my 1997 dodge it came with rail car dust (very fine metal shavings all over the truck, dealer washed it and made a bunch of swirl marks, I had to clay bar the whole rig to get the "rail dust off". I wasn't so lucky getting the swirl marks out. Was thinking of asking the dealer to not wash it so I can handle it myself. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks

Thanks Congrats - That's some good time - mine was right at 7 weeks, 2 days from order to delivery. Yea I stopped my dealer's prep guy at delivery from going after a slight smudge with a power buffer! Just hit the smudge with Meguiars cleaner wax by hand a couple days later. Mine fresh off the boat 2 weeks ago......... and today......... 400 some miles on her so far - haven't washed it yet in the Seattle area rain......

Lady Siren 3-16-17.JPG Westin 007.JPG Dang, that is indeed a sweet looking ride, it was a hard choice deciding between the chevy or gmc figure a guy couldn't go wrong either way. Been raining here on the Oregon Coast a bunch as well and I don't bother washing unless I know we have a little sun in the forecast, but then it usually rains anyway. ha
Lgetz Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 2017 let your sales guy know that you do not want them to PDI before delivery. Had them do this with my 15 and it had 0 swirl marks when I received it. Shoot I even told them not to take plastics off the seats and carpet. Once I had it home over Memorial Day weekend washed and waxed it. With your Stone Blue paint it is even more important to use proper washing and drying techniques. I hand wash my truck and won't consider letting someone else do it. Invest in 2 wash buckets, grit guards, high quality wash mitts, waffle weave dry towels, microfiber towels, and good sealer or wax. Usually takes a couple hours for a comprehensive wash in early Saturday morning or a late evening. My truck is nearly 2 years old and I have 3 swirl marks on it. Its a pain but I get satisfaction from doing myself.
