WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP

Hello my name is Gastón Ossa I am from Chile I have a Silverado Z71 CC 2017, my washer pump is dead, any other have the same problem? my truck have 4000 km

The other morning I found that my washer pump is also dead. 2017 LTZ. I had not gone thru the original washer fluid yet.

I had my windshield washer pump replaced today 12/6/2017 the service advisor told me it was tested on the bench and it failed, I'm driving a 2017 Z71 6.2 v8 with 9775 miles. This part was replaced under warranty (no charge). After researching this issue I have found that it looks like a systemic problem with the pumps that the Z71 comes with. If you are having problems with washer fluid pump failure, provide your dealer with URL to this site and request replacement under warranty, they should oblige your request.

So the windshield washer pumps are different on the Z71 than on other trucks? Why don't they put that in the brochure as another difference from the regular to the Z71 models?

Highly doubtful that the trucks use different pumps. It looks to be a bad batch of pumps on the 2017 models just from looking at this post.

Not sure if the pumps are different on the Z71 than other models, I had no discussion regarding overall product/part differences between _regular_ models, being a 2017 the parts spec out very well could be universal or specific to models, I have no information to support a possibility of differences.

Engine, trim, z71, etc has nothing to do with it.

 

A handful of failures does not mean it's a systemic problem. 

I follow several of these forums, windshield washer pump failure in late model pickups is certainly not a common thread topic.
