You're right on the carb vs TBI. Carb was electronic qjet. Had an O2 sensor and all. Think it was an 86.5 305

My '86 Monte Carlo SS has the E4ME carb too.

I lot of the '87 pickups I have run into were TBI. Was a strange mix, '73 style truck with '88 style engine, but I never had any problems getting parts for them. Many of them had a small 'fuel injection' emblem on the tailgate. Of course, all the 'old style' trucks that carried on, like the Blazer/Jimmy, Suburbans, and crew cabs, were also TBI.

AKA R/V chassis internally

Our aftermarket parts business up here isn't as widespread as Stateside. I wish someone like Auto Zone or O' Reilly's would cross the border. All sorts of US brand clothing chains have set up shop here (which I have no need to go into) but the auto parts business is kind of stale. NAPA & Carquest are here, but they're more interested in the jobber business than DIYers.

I actually manage a GM dealership parts dept. and from the looks of it according to my parts catalogs, everything is pretty much a carryover for both 1500 & 2500 trucks. Probably a few little upgrades like always, but nothing substantial.
