Interesting sticker

I popped the hood on my dad's new truck, and seen this sticker. I covered up the dealer name because it was dealer traded to our local dealer, and they don't use these. Anyone have a sticker like this on their truck?

I'd garner to say some sort of aftermarket something was installed at one point or another, be it one of those "electronic rust inhibitors" or some sort of smart aftermarket remote start.

What is your pinky covering?

I'll bet it's the dealer name.

I just realized actually the OP mentioned that in his post LOL. Now I feel dumb for asking.

Either way, a call to that dealer unsuspectingly might result in the best answer as to why its there.

Don't waste a call. It is a self evident reminder of GM policy...... if/when someone comes crying for a warranty repair claim because the truck wasn't running correctly and after a custom tune still wasn't running any better.......they will point to the sticker and say bye bye warranty, pay up or take a hike.

That label is not a GM label at all. I have NEVER seen a single brand new truck come off the delivery truck with one of those sticker EVER. Its a dealer added label for something that dealer does or has on its new cars. Every GM label on a GM car has either the "GM" logo on it (the Mark of Excellence logo) or an 8 digit part number.

You're correct, it is from the dealer. The truck is 100% stock. It's a 2017 Chevy Silverado high country 6.2l.

Its a reminder sticker from the (covered up) dealer to get your vehicle serviced by them instead of another dealer.

Reminder - you should pay us a lot instead of doing it yourself.

hahahaha, yeah.

To be fair though, I've seen a ton of people try and repair or upgrade stuff on their own and completely **** up their car and then take it to the dealership pretending they didn't do anything.

I remember when I had a Durango, a guy at the Dodge dealer service dept next to me was claiming he'd rotated tires every 10k miles, changed oil every 3k, etc, but his car STILL was having problems. Meanwhile one look at the tires you could tell he was full of shit and the tech (friend of mine) said his oil was black sludge and had probably never been changed in the 22,000 miles the car had on it.

I don't blame manufacturers from trying to protect themselves from scammers. Just sucks that us honest folk get screwed by those scammers too.

I'm the kind of guy that will modify the car, if i screw something up and can't find a solution, i take it to the dealer and be 100% honest with them and so far, i haven't had to pay out of pocket, a lot of complimentary stuff. My modifications were not financially substantial like a transmission or motor from a tune or a "plug this in your ODB port and get 35mpg and +60hp

Being in business myself, I understand the necessity of disclaimers when it comes to controlling customer expectations. My guess is that the dealer had a large number of customers come in with modified vehicles (custom tunes, etc) and said customers wanted whatever problem they were experiencing fixed under warranty. When the dealer told them "no dice" they got mad and complained. This sticker sets the expectation up front: "If you change it, we won't fix it under warranty."

My dealer put a similar sticker on my truck. I peeled it off and put it on my toolbox. Its just a warning/reminder sticker to scare someone so that they will return to the dealer for all repairs and maintenance.
