Engine braking during break in helps seat piston rings.

Which says to drive gently. Suggested for the masses who know nothing of cars and can't be trusted to do anything more complicated.

We'll just got home and started the pickup. It has been sitting since last night at 7pm. No blue smoke. Going to chalk it up to something to do with the break in. Going to keep an eye on it obviously.

My '15 would do that as well. My brother in law gave me a hard time about it. He drives a Ram so his opinion really means nothing I wouldn't worry about it,my truck did it whenever it was cold. I tried to remote start it when I couldn't see the exhaust pipe.

if he drives a ram, his opinion def doesnt matter! :rollin:

Is this procedure not done by GM before the vehicles even get to the lot? :dunno:
