Auxiliary Battery Tray

Does anyone know if the 2017 Sierras come standard with an auxiliary battery tray?

Yes the tray is there and if you furnish your own wiring you can put a 2nd battery in.

Yes, there is a tray there but it's not a true battery tray. It's only a plate for mounting the computer modules to. There is no provision for the standard GM hold down block and wedge so you have to improvise a way to fasten it down.

I mounted an underhood storage box from an earlier model year Silverado that that tray.

It go the jumper cables and a couple of other small items out from under the rear seat.

My catch can is mounted back on the brake booster.

I plan on upgrading my current battery and adding a 2nd battery, installing it in this location. Also upgrading the alternator and adding the Big 3 ground kit. I want to add LED bars up top and in my grill along with upgrading sound system (nothing crazy) but also found these storage bins that go in the truck bed that have rear facing speakers. I like to tailgate for games and this would come in handy. I also want to add a rear facing LED bar for assholes. I live in South Florida and there are enough of those to go around.

that so-call battery tray , can be replace with a REAL tray, that's has the hold down . just unbolt the old and put in the new . Got my from dealership (parts) , had cables made at local parts shop.

I like this idea... so far I have only used it to keep food warm while I am driving home from picking it up...
