Finally took delivery

So I finally took delivery of the truck. A few things right off the bat that I am very surprised with in a high end and fairly expensive truck (Professional Grade??)

The Bad

1. Wind noise all the time with at least the driver side door its not terrible but its annoying. I have not sat in the passenger seat yet

2. The hood seems to shake in the middle closer to the cab I assume aluminum hood with not enough bracing

3. The driver side mirror or maybe just the glass in the mirror has some shake to it. very noticeable and hard to see if that car behind me has lights on the top of it :)

4. The ticking is worse than I expected but I have seen post on it so I expected it

The Good

NO shake at 62mph or any other speed that I have noticed. It actually seems to ride pretty good even with the Rancho shocks. and Its a pretty nice truck

So do you think I could get some good will fixes on the wind noise and maybe the hood since it just dropped out of bumper to bumper warranty 17 days ago?

Did you not notice these during the test drive? Or did you just buy the truck without test driving it?

And only one way to find out, call the dealer and see what they say. No one here can tell you what the dealer you bought it from is going to say.

Good luck!

But, I think we can make a pretty good guess.

Try lubricating the door seals with silicone based lubricant, they may expand enough to seal that noise out.

Hood shakes while driving? The little pads up front might be worn and not providing enough contact pressure.

Mirror shaking usually means the glass is starting to unglue from the backing. If that's the case it will require replacement or a DIY epoxy job.

The "cons" you mention are the sort of things you should notice on a test drive. I tend to agree with jpinoy on his post. However, often when we are test driving we are not our normal objective selves! If you didn't purchase this vehicle privately I would most definitely check up on the dealership's "good will". Enjoy your new truck!

Just because you order a vehicle doesn't mean you can't test drive it.

I make them let me take it for a test drive before we finalize everything.

62mph shake!? Sounds like you are looking for trouble. It's a USED 2015 truck - it isn't like new. Did the previous ever lube the door seals - has it been in an accident - many unknowns how it was cared for.........

lol no I did not test drive i just bought the truck unseen from a friend. lets just say for what i paid i can live with the cons and i promised not disclose the price :)

its all good I like the truck and will deal with the problems or not.

it has a 5 year bumper to bumper from ally Premier Protection warranty that i did not know he had and can be transferred to me

Well there you go. Drive it and if anything else comes up take it in for repairs. The Ally warranty probably has a deductible which has to be payed every time it goes in for repairs. Wait for several issues and take care of them in one swoop. Or you may not have anything else go wrong and handle these before Ally warranty ends. If you are doing the maintenance on your own or at a shop but not dealer keep all receipts. This will definitely help should issues arise. Good luck and enjoy the truck.
