My dbl cab max tow 6.2 8 speed was built in Jan 2017. Hoping most problems where corrected. Shifts like butter and has had only the torque converter shudder. Only 2500 hundred miles but all is good.

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with 6.2 and an 8 speed that I have had back to the dealer three time about hard shift between 1st and second going up and down. Not there all the time. Goes clunk sometimes. They tel me I have a quirky transmission. Pretty expensive truck to have a quirky transmission. Anyone else with similar issues?

About 7000 on mine and still awesome. A little odd trans here and there but it shifts smooth. I discovered the towing setting raises the rpm's and shift points and helps decel braking. I like it may double as sport mode.

So the story goes like this....

My 2015 6.2L 8 speed double cab has issues

Highway vibes

Tranny that shifts mostly like crap

And also lifter/pushrod failures.....it's currently in shop for the 2nd time with a lifter failure.

I'm not happy

I know of 3 6.2L trucks now that have had lifter issues.....let alone the other problems

So I get $150 over their cost for a new truck....thinking of another 6.2L(the 5.3L won't cut it)

This would save me thousands over going to a F150

They actually have a 6.2L crewcab on lot

I'm ready to be gone with my POS

But I'm very wary of the 6.2L having same issues

So all you 2016/2017 owners.....have your trucks been solid???

**knock on wood** mine has been a great truck!

I'm at 25k miles on my 2015 6.2L. The only problem I'm having is with my rear leaf springs being noisy. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. No other issues.

2017 SIerra Denali Ultimate crew cab here with 6.2, The tranny clunks a little here and there, & I have vibrations at highway speeds and a hesitation while holding consistant speeds on level road, have also noticed when its doing that sometimes the rpm needle is jumping around a bit. Just got it back from the dealership, they said they hooked the picoscope to it, and they can't find anything wrong with the truck and everything is within spec. They actually said that maybe it was the K&N intake I have on causing the rpm needle jumping. I told them I will put some more miles on the truck and that I'm sure I will be back.

Forgot to add that the loaner they gave me for 2 days was the elevation series with the 5.3 & 20" rims, it drove like I would expect while on the freeway, and the only hesitation I felt with that truck was when holding a steady speed and AFM was on.

Tach jumping around and consistent speed is probably your torque converter, you may even feel some vibration. There's a bulliten on it..... If they can't find it for you, I can dig through some paper work and find the # for you....

hit 10,000mi yesterday towing with this trans is a dream.

The rare occasions this trans misbehaves is eclipsed by its towing capability and smoothness.
