What's everyone. I ended up deciding on a exd-cab.2001 -1500 my wife is very short so i believe this shoud be enough for a small child.-5.3-one owner- good car fax, posi traction-tow package with 146k for 6,000$. It all checked out good picking up tommorow. Got him down 1k. The things that concerned me was when I turned on the ad I heard a cracking sound from I believe the ac compressor- drove it for 20mins with the ac on with no sound or problems...also I heard a whistle from the gas tank area- my mechanic said it was normal for those trucks. .. how do you protect these trucks from rolling? Will they roll. My friend died rolling a Tahoe so I ask.

These will only roll over if you're doing something you shouldn't be. You'd have to work very hard at it as well. Put over 200k miles on my 06 without being worried about putting it on its roof. Drive with common sense and within the laws of physics and you'll be fine.

Anything will roll under the right circumstances. I rolled a go-cart when I was a kid. You cant get a lower center of gravity than one of those.

Keep it between the white lines.

Its pretty hard to roll a truck over while on the road. You'll skid before it flips. Most rollover accidents involve driving through a ditch, and as several country songs remind us, you can't jump a ditch.
