Curious about the radio updates as well. What additional functionality did that add?

Radio updates are BUG FIXES only!

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

This is correct but there is nothing wrong with what the op is doing. I've taken past vehicles in for a pre-warranty expiration check-ups and I will with my new truck. I find dealerships very good at identifying and repairing imminent problems. I combine this inspection with another service such as an oil change and I get a written record of any work completed or other potential concerns. There are other threads on the pros and cons of extended warranties but I find problems usually surface and are resolved during the standard warranty period.

Stealerships must be vastly different in Canada vs. here!!

If the condenser line does not get broken now, it will be within the next 15k miles.

:banghead: Don't go spewing more lies just because you had an issue, that is what is called trolling...

Most likely it won't fail OP, some have and they have done some redesigns to try and combat it but like the vibration threads it is a very small sample set that have.

So my 3 year anniversary date is coming up in June on my 2014 Sierra.

I've had vibration issue fixed, headlights updated, seat upholstery replaced, loose seat fixed, but didn't do the seat belt repair.

As this is my last chance for any warranty work, I've made an appointment to have the whole truck gone over.

Looking for leaky shocks, and paint peeling from frame. Any suggestions what else has been susceptible to problems? Thanks in advance.

They won't find anything wrong now. It will come when you visit them next after June.

What updates do you speak of? I do not think I have had any updates done on that.

I had some done for the screen blacking out, Backup screen staying on, Black screen saying service review camera.

The have newer versions of the software from when it was built. Just ask for it to updated to the latest software to correct a few issue I mentioned.

This would certainly make for an interesting discussion! It is my belief that most auto dealerships are highly motivated to please their customers. My understanding is that they still get paid for work that is covered by warranty. If they can keep a customer loyal, and still get paid, they will not avoid or postpone warranty work.

I agree! Mine will even tell you bring in before the warranty is up so we can go over it and update, fix or change anything that is related to your VIN..........I am just astounded at some peoples experiences with dealerships.....In all my years GM dealerships have always stood behind their products...FERD just uses the "it's out of warranty, sorry"

that's weird you guys have that type of experiences. my truck is still under my powertrain by 3k miles and they wont fix my transmission

I second the question about what fixed your vibration issue? I've got 2,500 miles until I roll past 36k and would love to get some solid info on the vibration issue. Im trusting the condenser line will be repaired under 'goodwill' if I have an issue since there is a known problem surrounding it.

In my opinion and experience, it's only worth taking the truck in for any problems you are currently experiencing. If you had a dash rattle on the second Tuesday of last December but haven't heard it since, that's going to result in a no problem found/ vehicle operating as designed at this time.

If you go in with a dozen different complaints that you heard on the internet but are not experiencing in your truck, that's going to result in a pissed off tech that will hastily run through every complaint with a no problem found. (Not one person gets paid to look at imaginary problems under warranty unless there are failed parts which result in a replacement)

Also if you go in and say you have no complaints, you just want to have it checked out before the warranty expires, every one involved in the chain of dealership rank will take an attitude and your truck will get pushed through very quickly with no repairs.

Of course there are exceptions to every situation with individual dealers, but those are far and few between.

Your best bet is to go in for an oil change. They'll most likely go through a multi point check list and should catch anything that is obvious.

My warranty expires in a few months as well and I plan on getting the dealer to replace the tailgate torsion bar because after 3 years my "easy" lift tailgate is not so easy anymore. I also plan on taking off each rear shock and compressing it by hand to see if they are shot or not. That will probably be it and I hope this truck does not give me any troubles for 10 years and 150k miles like my last two silverados. If it does and the repairs get to be more than I want to deal with then I will just move on to another truck from a different company.
