Turns out my frame is rusting. They found it during an oil change. Going to repaint it for me

 

Fibration was fixed by replacing ring and pinion gear in rear end.

My dealership has been nothing short of great. They meet me before they open so I can drop truck off for warranty work and have loaner waiting, last week I had my oil changed and because I waited an hour and a half they gave me another free oil change and told me they were sorry they didn't get me out of there faster. Pretty awesome dealership considering I had no appointment and just rolled in all Willy nilly.

Found leaky shocks when repainting the frame. Replaced them under warranty.

It is always good to hear about this kind of service. My experiences have always been positive at my local GM dealerships!

Warranty is for broken parts. Not what might break or a restoration.

Don't I know it! And unless under recall, not for what WILL break either.

 

Had a cherry '07 Avalanche with a 1st gen AFM 5.3. Wasn't burning oil at the 5 yr. mark but I wanted to get the updated valve cover/PCV takeoff, AFM valve splash shield and modified AFM valve lifters installed in post 1/2011 engines to correct the AFM oil burning design problem.

 

Told by multiple Chevy dealers it would only be done after the problem developed and would be charged if out of warranty. Traded it immediately for a '12

My responses are the only ones using exclamation marks on this page so I can assume these maybe triggered your response. I apologize if my use of punctuation annoys you and I'll be more aware my use of this symbol. I often use it where others may choose to use an emoji. A seemingly matter of fact statement may often be an opinion, bias, or sarcasm. An exclamation mark signals an awareness, in my opinion, that may not occur with a period.

Makes me chuckle at the idea they'll identify a potential problem and fix it under warranty. Reminds me of my 04 Z71 and the speedometer problems they had. Cost me 700$ to get fixed. Three years after I traded it in I get a letter about free repairs. At the time I wanted mine fixed I had to wait months for them to get the part. Of course according to them mine was an isolated problem.

I never buy extended warranties, but I did on my current truck as they dropped my interest rate so low, my total cost was only ~ $700 for major guard 5/100. Well, I find there are so many exclusions (read those), that I wont ever buy one again. My plexi window frame cracked, and while replaced under 3/36 in my last avy, the major guard didn't cover (easy fix though with a little RTV). Its NOT the same as the bumper to bumper, so if you are running out check the excluded items carefully as those are the things you will most likely fail (trim, leather, lenses, etc.)!!!!!!!!!! (<- for u heavy)...
