Could it finally be? A rear gear set for the 2014 that direct fits?

Ive been playing with the idea of re-gewaring my truck for months now but the 3.08 gears required basically buying a whole new rear and front setup for the guts... Not just the ring and pinion and install kit... I was about to bite the bullet lastnight and didn't drop the 2200 in parts to kit the re-configure kit from east coast. Yes I know how to do gears so I was pissed it was going to cast that much...

Well I get on east coast today and boom theres a direct bolt on set for 320 plus an 85 dollar spacer to put 4.10s in my rear without changing my diff...

4.10s are a definite must for anyone with bigger tires (up to 35s). Those AAM gears are great quality (OEM gears in these trucks), very quiet, and their CS is great. Just make sure you break them in per their recommendations. I'd also look into a limited slip while you're at it.

If anyone is considering regear get at least 4.10s. It's a huge upgrade that makes a big difference. With 35s I was still getting 16-17 MPG if I remember correctly.

Oh and definitely put some Amsoil in there too lol

If you buy a limited slip, wouldn't you just buy the correct carrier for 4.10s and eliminate the spacer?

I was thinking that as well. But I want to go as cheap as possible now and not having to replace the current diff is a huge savings. I can get all the parts now for under 1100 with my business a little less and be done with everything for under 1300...

Make sure you research the spacer...I want to remember there is a loc-tite compound you use between the carrier and spacer to prevent movement?

It's been a while since I had anything to do with the spacers, but they were common in the offroad world, and sometimes moved, shearing bolts in the process. Not that you are putting anything close to the stress of an offroad buggy on that setup, but it's worth noting.

Have all the info for that swap here also. Ran spacers on street cars long time ago, little leary of it on a truck, when I talked to East Coast, they felt it was a non-issue on a street vehicle. I think the spacer is only about .080" thick. Front end will need a different carrier, those are $165.00 for bare carrier. Be nice if they had a spacer for the front 8.25" ring gear. I am kinda surprised none of the gear manufacturers are making a thick ring gear set in either 3.73 or 4.10. Odds are anymore gear than those are probably going to be for an off-road setup where a different carrier (locker) would be warranted anyway.
