usually whatever they give you should be good enough. working at a dealer all my life it was great to see people that appreciated the loaners whatever they may be. Then you had THOSE people that complained because we gave them a Corolla as a loaner while they were having their Prius worked on. If you expect nothing you will appreciate everything. If your expectations are grand, your feelings are going to get hurt.

Take what they give you and be happy. Its not a Rolls Royce

When I had a Ram and my wife a Jeep we were constantly infuriated at the loaners we got from our dealer for our frequent visits, the crème de la crème of which was a quarter million mile Town and Country with a cracked windshield and no heat that I had to daily for three weeks (in place of my two year old $55k truck). Ultimately their loaner fleet was one of our motivating factors to jump ship to GM lol! Couldn't be happier [emoji106]

That's FCJ for you. I did 2 years for Dodge and I can only tell you that as far a quality is concerned,,,THE WORST...What ever the car truck or jeep, they were always in for multiple warranty issues and their service just as bad

Talked to my insurance guy today and was told the insurance is covering it since it was a natural cause, lighting striking the truck.

There is a very high probability that your truck will have a warranty block placed on it due to the lightening strike. Warranty block means NO WARRANTY, all repairs out of pocket.

There have been several others on this site that have had blocks put on their truck for less of a reason.

I took my truck in for the driver seat movement issue and the dealer put me in a Malibu for the day lol... It mos def wasn't as nice as my truck but did beat having to take an Uber everywhere...

I have only needed a loaner once. My dealer actually said we are going to go over here to get you a loaner. I had my fiance follow me up there, I had never had that done before. I got a '17 LT truck, pretty low optioned but I did not care, it was to get from point A to B. Took care of it and put the gas back to where it was when I got it, like you would a rental.

My local dealer (Imperial Cars in Mendon MA) owns their own rental car company and have always offered me loaners if they are keeping it overnight without me even having to ask. My 2014 has had 2 overnight stays, one for the headliner that needed to be replaced when the roof mounted tail light leaked and once when it had a busted valve spring which sent the entire truck into panic mode. The first time i declined the loaner since it was summer and i just used my motorcycle. The second time i did take the loaner since it was winter and they gave me a fully loaded equinox v6 which was a fine loaner to drive for two days, i treated it like i would my own and made sure to let the service guys know that i appreciated the loaner.

So, there are two lines of thoughts (at least, maybe more) from a dealer perspective...1) loaners are a cost 2) loaners are a sales opportunity. I just dropped my truck off (loaded LTZ, Z71 Midnight edition crew cab) and I got a stripped down, bare bones colorado...when I 'booked' my warranty work to be done, I said I really need a truck because I will be hunting etc...(plus that is what I am getting work done on)...so, I should have been more specific, but at least the dealer gave me a truck. so, split verdict when it comes to customer service. in my opinion this dealer was at least trying to help me out, but they also view loaners as an expense. My last truck was a LTZ extended cab...when I took it in for warranty on that one, i was given a NEWER crewcab loaded LTZ. I beleive this dealer took warrany work as an opportunity to potentially up sell me (it almost worked! haha!) but not only did i consider getting a new truck, but i also really appreciated the customer service.

to the 1Radtoy, my opinion is if my vehicle is under warranty and getting warranty work done, I expect a loaner (and honestly at least comparable to what I drive)...if i am just getting repairs done, if I get any sort of loaner, that is absolutely the dealer giving great customer service...and i would not expect that...there is a huge difference on repairs and warranty work...

My 17 LTZ Z71 is in the shop again....last week when it was in they gave me an 18 LT with 11 miles on it. Today when I dropped it off they asked if I would be OK with an '18 Tahoe LT with 700 miles on it. Fine by me....
