What car to expect as a loaner?

I try to keep the loaner as clean as I can. I don't want them to remember me as the customer who trashes their loaners. They will put me to the bottom of the loaner list. They remember that stuff.

I've bought from one dealer almost exclusively for 20 years. I haven't had too many loaners, I had found it amusing that when I had they give me a loner that was further down the food chain than what I was driving. I would tell them way to up sell guys.

That's what I'm worried about. I at least what something similar to my truck. That's why I came here to ask my question so I'll have some ammo in my back pocket.

They'll try to make you feel special that they even have a loaner to give you, I just laugh at them. A Texas Edition truck to a sub compact car, I had to wait two days for it.

First rule of a loaner

"It aint yours" so drive it like you stole it

My local dealership has a National or Enterprise (can't remember) car rental kiosk in it for their loaners. I have never needed one from them before *knock on wood* but I would imagine they'd give you anything as long as it got you from A to B. They're pretty good though; I'm sure if I told them I needed a truck for work, they would provide me a loaner truck. I think it really comes down to the dealership and the relationship you have with them.

When I had a Ram and my wife a Jeep we were constantly infuriated at the loaners we got from our dealer for our frequent visits, the crème de la crème of which was a quarter million mile Town and Country with a cracked windshield and no heat that I had to daily for three weeks (in place of my two year old $55k truck). Ultimately their loaner fleet was one of our motivating factors to jump ship to GM lol! Couldn't be happier [emoji106]

No loaners offered by my dealer...don't need them with 4 vehicles and only 2 active drivers. When one needs servicing overnight either the salesman will drive me the 14 miles home and pick me up when the vehicle is ready.......or I'll choose a new one on the lot and take it home for a test drive. Dealer's no fool...last time I decided to buy the new Impala traded against the one of the Malibus being serviced.

Son just bought a 2017 Impala LT, pretty loaded.....that's one sweet car.....back to the subject at hand as others have said, especially if it's warranty work, press them and they absolutely should put you in a truck/car as nice or nicer as what you currently drive....never had a problem with my dealer, always treated me like gold. But my family has bought 6-8 cars there over the last 10-15 years so I'm pretty sure they aren't going to piss me off over a tank of gas and being down a vehicle for a few days.....

Had two different loaners from dealer in Fla.

First time was a '17 2wd Sierra SLT with like 800mi

Second was a Acadia SLT with 300mi

I got a '17 Z71 with 300 miles on it last time I took my truck in.

I have an LT, and when I brought my truck in they gave me a ltz. It was a nice vacation, even though I enjoy my truck. Definitely a way to make you want a nicer truck.

The truck is in for warranty work. They are most likely going to drop the transmission and work on it. I'm still waiting for any work to get done. My parents just bought a 2017 Silverado from them 3 months ago. I'm supposed to get the call on Monday and I'll update everyone after I get the call.
