What car to expect as a loaner?

My dealer usually has loaners available. One time I got an Acadia SLE and another time I was in a 2017 Sierra SLE CC short bed. I really enjoyed driving it, I liked the cloth interior. Loved the LED headlights. I was reminded why I paid extra for the 6.2 tho :-)

Thank you for being a responsible and respectable man.

In a way you are borrowing the dealerships vehicle. Not sure how some of you heathens were raised (maybe by a pack of wolves) but I was taught that when I borrowed something I was to take better care of it than I would my own. Anyway all my local GM dealers are great about loaner vehicles last time I got a truck for a loaner but they were adamant that I could not pull my trailer with it so I did not but it was an inconvenience.

This. If it is a rental I am paying for I could care less since that is all built into the price I am paying but if it is a free loaner I will take care of it like I would my personal vehicle.

Exactly. Plus most people don't realize this but dealers do NOT have to give you a loaner. There is nothing in the warranty requiring them to do this. Most do it though since it makes good business sense.

I do believe if it's under the 3 year 36,000 warrety they have to provide you transportation. Especially if they have to keep it overnight.

I got the call telling me my truck is ready for pick up. No loaner this time even though they tried getting me into a new Silverado but just couldn't make it happen.

That or bike, or ride the courtesy shuttle.

so when my $50k truck breaks under warranty im supposed to walk to work?

So, in conclusion, a couple decent "chumps" and a group bitching because their dealers don't offer....hmmm...

Ive had a Cruze and a malibu from my dealer. Don't really understand why it matters what they give you though...just need something to get from A to B for a couple days. On a side note, I thought the Malibu was a pretty decent driving car...had a 1.6l turbo that was more than enough power

While I understand what you are saying, I think for warranty work you should get of like vehicle. If you are turning in a full size 60k truck and they give you a little Cruze for a few days while fixing a malfunctioning truck then it bugs me a little. First world problem I know.

Personally I'm a picky ahole. I hate loaners/rentals to begin with and I've never owned a car. I don't want to sit on the ground in a tiny car, tiny suv, or half ton with manual seats. I feel cramped and lack of height hinders my visibility and ease of avoiding idiots and wrecks. I pushed my road trip last October back a day just so I could take my truck. Was the Tahoe nice? Hell yeah and it would have cost me considerably less going 3k in that loaner vs my truck. I think that Tahoe was the only loaner I've been given that I liked and felt reasonably comfortable in.
