So I was under my suburban today n came across this. Like wtf happened here. A lil input from y'alls perspective what it could be or what all this is. Looks like they jb welded some kind of leak but don't know what. Close to the oil filter. It's a 2000 suburban 5.3 4x4. 14d635a6c2200f13015e74a68926f42a.jpg

That should be the area of the oil cooler block off plate.Clean it off, could be as simple as a gasket replacement. Also could be a little more major issue if broken bolts are involved

Let's hope it's not a bigger issue will be dealing with it next weekend

Worst case I'd throw a new oil pan on it. Who knows why they did that...could be the pan was cracked at that point, or just the cooler block off. I would also run the VIN at the dealer and see if there is supposed to be an oil cooler line there or not. Someone may have removed the lines at one point if they were leaking.

To me worse than the over use of whatever sealer is gooped all over everything is that bolt with a few extra "spacers" (nuts) on it.

That was the first thing I noticed also!

Pretty sure they stripped the hole...those bolts are tiny and thread into the aluminum pan. IIRC theyre only torqued down to like 80in lbs or so. I wouldn't trust that and would either remove, tap and fix it or get a new/used pan on there.

Yea saw that too hopefully it's nothing major and I could get it fixed without blowing a hole in my wallet
