Front clunk noise and coolant smell fix

Guys i know this has been brought up several times but i figured i'd post anyway. Seems that most threads i read through never end with a fix, just a GM rep or a dead end.

I currently have a 2014 GMC CC 4x4 with 56K

i brought my truck in to the dealer for a coolant smell and clunking sound coming from the front drivers side. Today i received a call back with the diagnosis.

Coolant smell was a radiator leak on the passenger side. ( yes there are many threads on this and i figured that may have been the issue)

Clunk sound was a loose tie rod on the driver side. ( i know there is a SB for the inner tie rod being loose or not torqued correctly from the factory ) I was told whoever did the alignment left it loose. I've only owned this truck for a week and a half so that might be the case. But knowing there is already a SB its hard for me to believe. Either way i'm happy if the noise is gone.

They had to order the rad so as soon as they are finished i will check for myself. As of now these are the fixes for my issues and i hope this helps just a little for anyone else.

I also have the same loose seat as everyone else which I've already ordered the parts to fix and what i believe the same vibration towards the rear between 70-80 mph. mine doesn't seem as bad as some videos I've seen but once the above issues are fixed i will move on to the vibration and resonance sound.

I have the coolant smell periodically in '15 as well. Didn't realize this was a known issue. I wondered if my resonance could be caused by the active noise cancelling that comes with the 6.2 but if your 5.3 does it then that thery is out.

Had info on the coolant smell showed rad leak and surprisingly head gasket.

There are also some on this site where guys were showing a leak in their radiator.

As far as the resonance/vibration I'm hoping a new drive shaft, yoke and all with a double cardan joint (CV) will fix the issue. A CV should cancel out the harmonics created. I can only hope.

I don't know much about the noise canclation if mine does doesn't have.

I will have to research more. I do know it's not the V4 mode causing it by simply putting the transmission in a lower gear to prevent it from turning on. Some sound.

From what I've read it can be anything from rear diff, body mounts to drive shaft. Being that gm uses a 1 piece aluminum shaft I'm assuming that is where the issue is.

I had a 13 6.2 4x4 never sounded like this.
