Grease Fittings

Have a 2016 Silverado 1500 regular cab Work Truck, 5.3, 4WD. Anyone have any idea how many grease fittings this thing has and where they are? Crawled under it in the driveway and could only see two,one on each tie rod end. Thinking my last truck (02 Silverado) had 11 fittings.

Thanks

That's all your given. Upper and lower balljoints and control arm bushings are "lifetime" of the 3/36k warranty then it's up to you to replace.

Take for your free oil change and your local Service Technician will not even find the 2qty? The only bushings that fail are the "Lifetime" and rot out in fraction of time it seems.....

The local GMC quick lube sure didn't find all 11 on my 2500....... Main reason I struggled to do it myself after the "free" oil changes........ 10 years worth of doing it myself..........

Took the kid's car to the local Valvoline (formally Oil Can Henry's) and was impressed at the service and safety precautions they take all around. Wish they would not pop the air-filter out every time though - it had black oil\grease on both sides from all the handling and checking - needed replacement just for that - wasn't due for 20,000 miles.......... LOL......

Yup, Life is getting shitter by the minute! I went out for Breakfast the other day a sit down restaurant and asked for water on 3qty different occasions and still the water never came? No wonder every country on the planet seemingly takes routine pokes at us!

Assuming you poke right thru the rubber on the OEM upper an lower BJ's correct????

Yep, no component under that kind of abuse is going to last very long without fresh grease every so often. These non serviceable parts are a complete joke.

Once the joint is dry, the boot is collapsed anyway sopoking a tiny hole through the boot will do a lot less damage than running a dry joint.

The only thing is that boot is just a dust boot...there is another thing that acts as a seal further in, plus the tolerance between the ball stud and the plastic that supports it is not conducive to receive grease from the boot side...

Now shooting some waterproof grease in there might be worthwhile because in my experience it's water intrusion that expedites ball joint failure in a lot of cases.
