I do not have any experience there, my bushings seem to be silent (knock on wood) let me know what you find out to do in case mine decide to start the popping game.

Did your leafs make the popping noise when putting light pressure on the truck? Like put an arm on the truck side or open a door?

They would make a noise if I stepped into the bed of the truck or moved the bed side to side, for instance taking the hitch and shaking left and right. But no I could lean up against her and shut the doors with no noise, using my step bar however would cause the issue

Mine is so sensitive that literally it takes any change in weight to make it do that hallow popping sounds. It's ridiculous and even more ridiculous that GM is blaming my wheels and 2" level in the front and now my truck is forever warranty void for related drive train issues. I feel like they really my back in their quality vehicles.

Pressure wash the leaf springs to get any dirt off of them. After they're dry, spray SuperLube on the spots I circled.

Mine made the same noise after putting taller blocks in. The noise has been gone for nearly 2 years after doing this.

So, I should have updated my post. You have circled the exact spot I have narrowed the noise coming from. I I tried to power wash them out but since the GM did the bulletin there is a lot of grease in there. So, now I would like to take apart the pack and clean it of all grease and grime. I also added some rubber between the pads and it seems to have done the job but they keep falling out. How are people keeping the rubber in place?

Posted

I've heard of guys putting rubber between the leafs but most have problems with the rubber either working its way out or getting shredded up over time.

I don't know why GM had dealers grease the pads. All grease does is collect dirt and make things worse. Teflon and graphite lubricants work better IMO.

GM truly believe grease fixes the problem....

Also if you are having the same problem do you have standard springs or tow package?

I know the leafs on my '14 made noise. But, with the exhaust I had plus playing music I never heard it other than when I didn't have music on and before I had the exhaust done. Also I'm sure it's worse when the bed is empty so the toolbox with hundreds of lbs in it probably dampened the spring so it didn't do it as bad.

going to try this lube thing suggested above.

I have a 1.5 level in front but have a feeling GM will blame it on that so I hope it can fix it . For me it happened just the past 2 months. I never tow but 1-2 times a week , I move about 1800 lbs of payload. who knows anymore man. I love my truck, love the way it looks , I love the 6.2 but some of the other issues have really started taking its toll on me.

If you are having the issue do not put the level on and if you have aftermarket wheels put the stock back on before you go in. The dealership will be less likely to help you when you modify. Believe me that is where I am.

I have Borla ATAK but its not loud enough at low speeds to over power the noise. And when I am backing out of the driveway I have the radio off so I can hear traffic I can't see down the hill.

Your not the only one hearing a clunk sound when going over a bump, it seems to happen on my truck when my rear end becomes unlevel ( one side up the other side down). I have a 2016 Silverado crew cab 4x4 ltz took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't hear anything going to take it back this week. I can mimic the sound by shaking the rear of the truck side to side. It sounds like it's coming from my axle. I do not have a leveling or lift kit on my truck.

Some of the noise comes from the end play on the axles. A majority comes from the leaf springs. I have done the grease trick on my '13, and just recently my '17. I used a fully synthetic grease applied with a putty knife. The noise is gone on this one, and with my previous truck.

Did you hit the rubber pads? Or something also?
