i've had two fail within 6 months of each other, 2nd one failed last night. 45k on the odometer. i'm installing a AFM delete kit asap.

Would just tuning out (tune to turn off) the AFM prevent lifter failure?

Or do you need the delete kit and get rid of the collapsible lifters all together to prevent failure.

Anyone know? I've had my V4 mode turned off since very early on, about at 2000 miles. But don't know if turning off the V4 even would help prevent lifter failure.

I put my Edelbrock Supercharger on at 40000 miles and with the supercharger tune it deactivated the active fuel management. So my lifters have been deactivated for the last five thousand miles and 2 of them have failed. I don't know whether deactivating them is causing the failure or if they inherently fail around 40 or 45 thousand miles. I just know that they no longer make any sense in my engine

How often do you change your oil? Just curious.

It's had every factory recommended oil change and OEM synthetic oil done at my local dealer. It's been every 5,000 miles and my "oil life" monitor has never dipped below 50%

I spoke to one guy yesterday, a friend of a friend and he owns a 2014 Chevy with 105,000 miles and no engine issues yet. The only issue he had is the AC lines and AC condenser took a shit. I have a 2016 and hope It make it past 100k and so on.
