Morimoto 35w 5500 problem

So picked up a set of the Morimoto bulbs for my 17 Silverado 1500. Right bulb not firing all the time. usually have to manually go to off ,on on the headlight switch to fire. Then it works ok. Called Retrofit. Where I purchased. Says the bulbs need a break in of 40 hours. Usually a 6-8 week period. Kinda pain when lights on ,off automatically. Wire connections are good,clean,positive. Anyone out there having trouble??

Hmm mine fired right up and hasnt had any issues, knock on wood. I have the 50w 5500k setup.

Mine light up fine, I only ran them maybe 2 hours total before the truck went into the shop for winter. Maybe a bad ballast? Take the ballast from the working drivers light and swap it with the p/s and see if the problem reverses. If your driver light then does the same thing, warranty the bad ballast. Morimoto wiring is top notch and I wouldn't suspect a bad connector or harness. 

 

Edit: Forgot the 17's come stock with HID or LED?  Not sure how GM sets up with wiring and/or ballasts for the HID system, but I would still check there first if you can remove and swap them to test.

All one,ballast and bulb, Na not going to swap bulbs. If problem continues going to try to get it replaced. Just wondering if anyone else ran into same issue.

Mine did that once. Ended up being the igniter. If you bought from retrofit they’re going to make you narrow it down to the exact part that went wrong. Save yourself a call.

I had this exact problem with the morimoto bulb. It needed to be RMA’d.

Had the same problem ,  the right side did it twice and then the left side.  After a  week it quit doing it ,and they both work great .
