Retractable Running Boards - winter lube?

Recommended Posts

Any recommendations on lubrication for the Automatic Retractable Running Boards that will withstand the cool temps of a Minnesota Winter (-10℉ to -20℉)

Not sure who makes the OEM, but AMP Research states specifically to only use silicon spray, NO other lubes or oils. I think less 'stuff' in linkage that could add friction, the better.

if you have access to a heated wash bay to keep the salt and ice build up off its one of the best ways to prevent binding other than that  any lubricant will be a short term fix

I wash my truck 1-2 times weekly - some claim that a car can be washed too much - guess its a sort of Paradox

don't wash it enough and you get dirt/rust, wash it too much and you create other issues ?!?

AMP must not drive in Minnesota Winters with all the salt, sand, snow and ice

 - and using a pressure washer in 20 below is not very practical :shakehead:
