Was the converter worth it? Time wise, money wise, and how much difference noticed?

Seems like a lot of work unless you are going to go extensive with more go-fast mods.

That's nuts. I can see why GM didn't make the 6.2 e85 compatible from the factory. If we had it in Calgary, I'd do a conversion right now..

I think it will be worth it but I'll let you know April 7th. Also probably going to do more go fast mods ;)

Sounds good. Truck is a beauty, didn't mean to throw any shade.

When you launched the truck with stock converter what rpm did your bring it up to? I don't know anything about brake stalling. Obviously it puts you higher up in the power band. What is it actually doing in the converter/transmission, is it hard on it?

Here is a launch brake stalled with the stock converter. Brake stalling it can get the transmission warmer than just flashing it. Even with repeated launches my trans temp has been staying slow.

Great vids man. Answered all my questions. I need a tune. I can feel the computer neutering the truck and it pisses me off. I can feel the butterfly not opening all the way and it's causing surging at wot. Spent close to $50k for a truck with a vette motor and it responds like a Honda in eco mode.

do you launch in 4wd?
He launches in 4hi then switched to 2 as soon as the launch is complete.

Tuesday night got some good 55 degree weather here and not a cloud in the sky. Tried several different ways to launch the truck. With a passenger(160lbs), 1/4 tank of e85, DA of 665, and the same exact spot we always do a 0 to 75mph logged pull. Brake stalled, 4wd hi launch, and switching to 2wd right after the launch was 5.52 0 to 60. Stalled to 1400rpm then flashed, 4wd hi, and switching to 2wd right after the launch was 5.57 0 to 60. The final brake stalled, 4wd auto, switched to 2wd right after the launch was 5.47 0 to 60. I will try all three again at the track but right now stalled auto 4wd launch is the quickest in my truck. Decent jump from stock :)
