I got tired of waiting on Rough Country. I don't even think they're going to come out with a kit for trucks with active shutters. I ended up installing the same lightbar that another member put on his gmc. It fits with the active shutters, puts out a lot of light, and isn't even noticable behind the grill. I did have to drill a couple of holes in the mounting bracket that came with the bar to lower it some, but that was it. 5d5a2fdfc4d54dc47f960d96df340459.jpg1b7d8211681cfefd8d19577f9466712f.jpg9f69dfb13e998a90ba520e87f98a239c.jpge2da92d9c57fe2c76bc100bb0a3f6fdd.jpg

Looks really good.  How did you wire them up, to brights or a separate switch? I am debating getting the oem switch for aux lights to wire mine.  About how long did it take you? Did you just mount it like the original guy in this thread or? I have a '17 Silverado so as much insight as you want to share would be helpful as I may have to do this setup also. Thanks!

I have mine wired up to the oem switch for aux lights. The light doesn't come with a wiring harness so you need to get one so its properly wired to a relay. I copied how TXGREEK mounted the same light except his is on a gmc. There is a plastic shroud that comes off when you remove the grill. Its mounted directly to the shroud. Just getting it lined up was the easy part. Finding the correct height took a little time. I'd say it took about 2 hrs but I already had my switch installed. Here's TXGREEKs pic of mounting it to the shroud. I didn't take any pics of it, but it's the same for the Silverado.9f93917ee48db66b0a55280b0cb19895.jpg

@huntr1117 I am a little inept when it comes to electrical. What kind of wiring harness do I need and where'd one get it? Sorry for all the questions.

@TXGREEK Thank you sir for the pictures.

I the wiring is easy, just time consuming. If you're going to use the oem offroad light switch then you'll need this harness from pgamboa https://harnessdr.com/product/off-road-light-headlight-switch-bcm-harness/ and the switch itself. Follow this YouTube video and it will explain the entire process.

I used this harness off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076C5HV59/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_FQQuEb0DCKXNY
It comes with a pigtail that you can soder onto the lightbar wires so you'll have a watertight connection. You will notice that in the video above his trigger wire for the relay is blue. On this harness it's not blue. I'll double check mine later to confirm what color the trigger wire is. That's pretty much it.

Can you just delete the active shutters or would you need a custom tune to shut the CEL off? I mean, we made it the last 100 years without "active shutters", is it really a necessity for half tons now? If it were possible I would be reefing those things out and putting a full size bar in there, unless the single rows are just as bright as yesterday's double rows.

The low profile 150w light bar Huntr1117 listed above doesn’t affect the shudders with extra room so no need to disable shudders.

I hear you, but can the shutters be deleted, I understand they throw a code, can a tuner tune that out? I would prefer to have a large bar in there rather than a single row when/if I move to an active shutter truck one day. Seems like just about the most useless thing they could dream up to put in these trucks. Goes from +30c to -30c here and I have never needed a winter front on a GM gasser, or more air going into the rad in the summer. All my gas trucks stay around 101 degree winter or summer, towing or empty. Seems more of a PITA than a benefit.
