Accutune Fox 2.5 DSC Coilover specifications:

Shock travel: 5.4 inches
Spring Rate: 700 lbs

Initial impression:
Ride quality is much better than the Icons. I actually have the lift from the shocks that I should and my 34.25 inch tall Toyo open country AT2 275/65/R20 tires no longer rub. I have the the DSC set at the lowest setting and the valving in the shock seem to be spot on.

Fender well measurements:
Driver side: 40 3/8 inches
Passenger: 40 1/2 inches
1/8 of an inch difference I could of fully adjusted the Chevy lean out. I still have plenty of room for adjustment on both coils. I’m going to see where they settle at by the end of the week and adjust from there.

I’ve had the Dirt King Upper control arms on for a year now. They are still solid. I lube the uniball once a month with Triflow super lubricant, and spray the upper control arm bushings with lithium grease. The grease keeps the polyurethane bushings from squeaking.

Installation of the Fox 2.5 DSC Coilovers.
I removed the tires and loosened disconnected the sway bar end links. Then unbolted the upper control arm uniball from the knuckle/spindle. Next unbolted the two lower control arm coilover mount bolts. After that the upper coilover bolts. Removed the garbage icon coilovers.

- [ ] Now this part was a little interesting. The lower coilover mount adapters are offset to allow clearance for he cv shaft. The coilovers lower mount was not clocked correctly. So I bolted the coilovers in using the three upper mounting bolts. Then I grabbed my BFW a 16 inch crescent wrapped a cloth around the bottom Shock eyelet shaft and clicked them. Now here is the important information here the big nut on the lower mount adapter has to be facing the rear to offset the shock towards the front. This will allow the clearance needed for the cv shaft.

After correcting the lower mount alignment issue I installed the lower bolts with blue Loctite and torqued them to 50 ft/lbs. the upper bolts received blue Loctite and 36 ft/lbs of torque as did the sway bar end links and uniball nut and bolt.

I’ll update further when I’ve had more time with them so far a 100 miles and they’re great.

I've been considering the CST coilovers for my Zone 4.5, as they make a 4.5 version. These are reported to ride very nicely and are cheaper than the Fox ones. Nice to hear you are having food results from yours. Sad really because I thought Icon was supposed to be top shelf.

Well the third day of driving on the Accutune Fox shocks and they are great. I no longer have jarring over the joints in the road or bridge expansion joints. I’m not slowing down for the normal dips on my route into work. Both sides have settled at 40 1/4 inches. The rear end is more predictable and behaved. I will continue to update as they break in.

Did you get the CST’s in and on yet?

So if you would like Fox, Sway-sways, or Kings all they have to do to accommodate your lift is put an extended shock eyelet shaft on. See the below picture. If I do decide to do a 4 inch lift. I’ll just order the correct length eyelet shaft and install it.

Yep they are awesome. I am so pleased with these shocks. The ride is much better than the Icons. These are what I expected the icons to be. The little bumps in the road are sucked right up as well as the large bumps. Rail road tracks are not an issue neither are expansion joints in the bridges. I don’t have to slow down for all the whoops in my daily commute that I had to in the past.

I tried adjusting the DSC but found that I like the high speed adjustment at the lowest level like they were originally set. The low speed I went up one click.

The shocks have also been fiancé approved. She was honest and told me that she thought I was just crazy before and the truck just rode like a truck. The first time she rode in the truck afterwards she was surprised and she still complements how well it rides.

Update: now with the new rubber replacing the out of round and worn tires the truck is the best ride quality I ever had. 646976b15cc2f811841449b7ce9ed909.jpg

Took the Fiancé, daughter, and sister on a road trip to New Braunsfell. The truck was riding so nice that they didn’t even notice how nice it was ridding. With the extra tire sidewall and the shocks I have found my best combo this portion of the build needs no more improvement the suspension is perfect. Now to play with rear shackles and Deaver springs.

Hey @Madcow2020, Truck looks good with the new tires. I am looking to do a similar lift setup (coilovers + new UCAs). What size tire are you running and still very satisfied with the setup?

Anyone have any idea, possibly through trial and error, whether I can fit a 285/60/20 on a 2017-2018 gmc 1500 with a 2.25” level. Currently have 275/60/20 with +18 offset wheels with no rubbing.

Just ordered a set for the front. Still trying to find a good deal on the rear. Did you go with Fox DSC in the rear as well?

I have the 2.0 adjustable valves in the rear. I use the adjustment on the the rear more than the fronts. When I put a skid steer or 25’ trailer with a load on. They help a lot when they’re cranked up about 4 or 5 notches. I’m planing on up grading to the 2.5 rears with DSC around February. I want to do shackles at the same time.
