2016 2500 Serria W/T,  Shame truck didn't come with this

Truck didn’t come with them because it’s not 80” wide and therefore doesn’t need them.

Cab marker lights are not an option on the 1500 trucks, even if you order the tow mirrors.  The cab marker lights are only available as an option on the 2500 and 3500 trucks.

I finally installed the GM roof marker lamps on my 2015 Silverado.  Now it looks like it should have all along!  I used the 3/4" square punch, which was really the way to go.  I'll sell the punch (Greenlee 1-3039) to anyone who can use it.  I paid $75 for the punch; I'll sell it for $70 with shipping included (Priority Mail flat rate).

Looks good! I'm not brave enough to try that on my 2018.

Did you use OEM GM lights and ran your own wires?

In another thread I mentioned I had just bought a used Leer 180 cap for my truck. It rises about 4 inches above the cab roof line.

Has anyone else thought about, or done, an installation or roof lights but on top of a 180 cap? I could put them right atop the crest where it finishes rising.  I just think that while I'm making payments on the truck and it's under warranty I may as well drill open the simple cap instead. Easier installation of lights. Easier leak mitigation. Not as devastating if there is a leak for that matter.

Would that be wierd?
