It's not just trucks doing it . I have a 2015 Chevy spark and my radio does all that and more. It resets my stations that I have set as favorites. It scrolls through pages on it's on. And it makes a lot of beeping sounds and nothing changes. I wonder if it could be the clock spring making it do this. If anyone has the answers please let us know. Thanks

I have been having the same issue with my 2016 2500 Silverado. I have the remote controls in the steering wheel. The info area in the center of the dash will track what the touch screen will do too. Goes to radio when on info, will change stations and now the display will shrink from time to time. Thinking about seeing if I can replace the screen with an after market item, has anyone looked at that possibility?

I had this problem and youtube video showed a cable behind the glove box , I believe it was a blue connector from a computer to the radio . This person on youtube had a 2015 Denali. Unplugging and reconnection the cable fixed his situation. I had the same problem with the screen going crazy. This didn't fix may situation but the cable had to connect to the radio. I pulled the radio and unplugged the blue connector , looks like a phone charging cable . Problem solved and it has been a few weeks no problem. Hopes this helps somone. Good luck.

My 2017 Denali HD started all this recently.  Why hasn't GM been forced to recall all these defective radio units. Seems like all GM radios in different vehicles are doing this. GM I am so disappointed in you for not doing the right thing!

It is the digitizer on the LCD. You can pick up an after market one on ebay. For my 2015 Tahoe it was 55 pin version but I think most models thru 2019 are the same.

Thanks

i posted a link for the digitizer on the previous page of this thread.
I bought it but have not installed it yet.

I will post the results when completed.

having issues on my 2015 now it is having a "Ghost" touch in the right upper portion of the screen.  So far I have recalibrated screen, reset the system to factory defaults and cleaned the touchscreen but it is still occurring.  I can deal with most of it but the part that is driving me nuts is that when I am using the phone it keeps placing the call on hold and the only way to resume the call is to do it from my phone's screen.

Keith, I sent you a PM. please contact me!

I have finally changed out the digitizer that I earlier posted on this thread.

Problem solved.

The process was fairly easy and took about 45 minutes & about $300 with shipping

Its been a couple of weeks now & no more jumpy/rolling/drifting screen.

I an glad to get this behind me.

Let me know if you have any specific questions on the DIY digitizer replacement.

Regards,

2018 GMC Sierra. Phantom presses started about a year ago and went away after a few weeks.  Now, they're back with a vengenance! Everything this thread has experienced, phone switching like call end, mute, changing stations, showing the station guides, changing the settings on the infotainment system.

For Wyatt1963, has touch screen fix continued to work for you?

Yes, everything is back to normal for me. I replaced the shark fin at one point thinking that was the fix. It was not. So the digitizer has solved the issue for me. I hope this helps others with out involving the dealer.
Maybe now it’s time to sell??

I'm on my third screen now - its definitely the digitizer-to-display glue or whatever they use.  I used OEM replacements (cheap chinese junk) and they both failed at the same exact spot at the bottom left of the screen where it phantom touches.  the newest one is just starting to take a crap on me but is still usable.  If you use android auto its a pain in the ass cause its going to keep messing with your google maps and send you somewhere else lol.  Seems the screen tends to act up more when its hot vs cold and the glue either binds or separates causing the phantom touches.  I've even tried to heat treat and press the screens back together but next time I'm going cheap and replacing the digitizer assembly as wyatt had done.

My 2018 just started switching the info screen between the speedo and odo from digital speed to audio; at the same time the main (big) screen switches from audio to a list of radio stations. Otherwise perfect satisfaction after 48,000 miles. If it costs a lot to fix I am not spending it. Next time I would buy the longest possible warranty all this new stuff is trouble-prone junk.

UPDATE: got in just before noon; large touch screen would not respond to any command, even from the wheel controls.

I determined that once it cooled down some from the ac, it started working. This is the first time I noticed this, though.
