Tow mirrors to regular mirrors

I just bought a new 2018 Silverado LTZ crew cab 1500 6,2 with the Max Tow package. I want to swap the tow mirrors to the regular mirrors. Is there any problem doing that? Would I need any different wiring harnesses? Dealer said it can’t be done.

I'm sure there are some guys here that would love to trade you! I love the tow mirrors but not sure I want to give up my power fold.

I've got a set of the DL3 mirrors and harnesses. I'd sell for $350 plus shipping.

But I'll be on vacation for a week.

I'm sure you'd have no problem selling your mirrors and harnesses and be money ahead.

I would strongly recommend that you keep your NHT (tow) package intact.  At least wait a month or two before doing this modification.  I know the stock smaller mirrors have a sportier look but the tow mirrors have far greater functionality. If you don't get to like them after a month or two, keep them for when you sell the truck.  There are plenty of people like me looking for a truck with rpo code NHT!

I’ve helped over 1000+ members with mirror upgrades/downgrades. Many of them that said their dealers said “it couldn’t be done”.

Current body style SLT/LTZ/Denali/HC power have foldable tow mirrors. 

 

Previous gen was manual fold only.

 

At least mine did/do.

I definitely want the regular mirrors, I like the view from the tows but I don't'  plan to tow with the truck. I  have a friend that wants them for his 2015 Denali and offered to pay for the standard mirrors for the LTZ in trade for these.

And yes they are power fold. I just want to make sure that I will have all the features that the LTZ mirrors have when I do the swap.

I may take you up  on that. Do they have the chrome portion or are they body color ?  Anybody know what the new DL3's cost from GM?

I have the same truck but with the regular power folding mirrors that have the chrome caps. I would be glad to trade you mirrors if you want? I installed after market tow mirror on my truck and I'm not real happy with them. I would like to have the factory power folding tow mirrors.

They are chrome. If you check GM the mirrors would run you close to $400 each, but that's not what they're selling for on Ebay. My price withers the harnesses is below what most sets of mirrors are listed for.

I may take you up  on that. Do they have the chrome portion or are they body color ?  Anybody know what the new DL3's cost from GM?

The only downside is going to be the cost... My one mirror had to be replaced at 4k miles. The cost for my one non tow, power fold mirror was 525.00... which is just STUPID!
