Front grill and accent painting, vinyl wrapping bumpers

Hey y’all,

 

   Figured I’d share my attempt to change the look of my front end. I’ve had really good experiences with the rustoleum bed liner in the past, so I’m using it again. I love the finish on it.

 

**side note, the image uploading aspect of this forum is the WORST I’ve ever used. Sorry for the multiple replies and sideways images. Nothing I can do about it.

I'd really like to see the finished product after installation. Id like to color match the front end on my black '16 and had never considered this option. post more pics when you're done. Thanks!

Yes, used some self etching primer just to be safe. Also lightly sanded the chrome. A little worried it was still too smooth but we will see.

Are you vinyl wrapping the chrome bumper? If so, what color are you wrapping it in and how much vinyl did you buy?

Initial re-assembly. Leave the chrome on the emblem or paint it...??

Yes, gonna do the front and back. Going to wrap it in 3m 1080 gloss black. Bought a roll of 5’x10’ off amazon for $100. Should be more than enough to do both. One company locally wanted $500 and they don’t even remove the bumpers ?. No thanks I’ll do it myself.

Sweet thanks for the response! Can’t wait to see how it turns out! Yeah these companies charge so much for “chrome deletes” I rather try it myself too. Good luck with it?

i'd leave the chrome but paint the red "GMC" black
