Xtang 2.0

Has anyone tried the Xtang 2.0 folding cover?  Looks like they removed the locking function and the side rails with water drain in this version.  Looks nice, I prefer the hard top as we can get a few feet of snow in the Republic of MA.

That does look nice.. I have the trifecta 2.0 soft cover .. no problem with snow here in Worcester!
I’ll go hard top next time I think.

I have the soft top and my brother has the hard top. Neither of us have any leaks besides that huge gap between the tailgate and bed when going through a water jet car wash.

I have the xtang encore, I prefer having the lock since I keep my tow strap and normal truck stuff in the front of the bed

What was nice is that I called Extang to discuss and they turned me on to local dealer here in Marlboro and gave me the exact p/n for my truck.  Dealer said they would have it in 2 days, they didnt have exact model in stock but they can get it from another so I’ll have it Wed.  Doesnt lock, but with locking tailgate, essentially the same protection.  Total no-tool installation.

I have this cover and I am happy with it.  The finish kinda is fading now after three years and a couple months (truck lived outside 24/7 for the first 2 and a half years).  I coated it in Adams Super VRT and it looks really good again.  Minimal water leaking, typically only when at the coin op car wash with the high pressure.

If I had to do it all again tho, I'd probably opt for something like the BakFip MX4 which you can put in an upright position against the cab.  There have been several times where I've had to take it off to haul something.  Guess it depends  how much you use your bed for that type of thing...  It is very easy to take on and off, just would be easier if I didn't have to!

I've talked to the folks at Extang before on the phone. They are very accommodating.

Did you check the prices on Autoanything.com? I have bought a few tonneau covers from them over the years. They seem to have one of the best prices online. If you start a chat session with them, you can often haggle a bit and they'll sometimes drop the price even lower.

Thanks for the suggestion, one problem I have is that I need to take a long trip this weekend and needed a cover quickly, so having it locally was a plus for me.  Actually, just having dropped almost $40K with sales tax, what's another few bucks vs buying online.  Just hoping wifey doesn't question.  Heck, she never notices another gun in the safe so would she notice a new tonneau on the back of the truck?

I have the Extang Soild Fold 2.0 and it's the best cover out. In rain, snow, car wash I might get a few drops but nothing major. I would never get a soft cover again. Tried to save $400 by not getting the Extang the first time and it bit me in the ass. Not only does it stay dry but is also more secure. I took my wife to the outlets one day and decided we had a lot of bags and I would drop some off. After finishing up and getting on the highway about 30 minutes later something felt weird almost like a strap flapping in the wind. Getting out to check on it I noticed someone had taken a knife/boxcutter to it and stole everything that was inside the bed. Go hard cover or dont even get one. I found that amazon had the cheapest price and it was at my home in 2 days.
