CEL came on after getting CAI

So I drive a 2018 Chevy Silverado crew cab 5.3L V8 and I just had a S&B CAI installed. A few engine cycles later my CEL came on.  The code is p0102 (MAF Sensor). I’ve tried a few different things that makes the CEL go away but it keeps coming back. Any advice on what to do is appreciated!

Go to a place like Autozone or O’Reilly’s and see if they won’t reset it if you don’t have a reader. When you unhooked it to install the new CAI, it triggers a code.

Is it a wet filter?  If so may have had too much oil and it got on the MAF sensor.

check to make sure both breather hoses are tight at the intake tube and the engine ends.  And all other connections are tight and installed properly.  and make sure the MAF is plugged in all the way

Might also try cleaning th sensor with spray.

Did the sensor get bumped or maybe touched on disassembly or reassembly?

I thought I remember the battery needing to be disconnected when disconnecting the MAF sensor?

I’ve disconnected/reconnected the negative side of the battery a few times now....it works, but only for about 30 minutes

Everything looks good to me

Must be something else triggering it then.

1 - take it back to where you had it installed and let them deal with it, or

2 - disconnect the neg cable for 30 mins.  Unplug MAF sensor plug and reseat it.  Connect battery and it should be good to go.  Like mentioned earlier, if you unplug the sensor with the battery connected, it'll throw a code.  Nothing really to worry about though.

I have unplugged my MAF sensor connector to replace the passenger headlight bulb without disconnecting battery cable.

It was probably disconnected for 20 min or so, and I never had the CEL come on after hooking everything back up.

Make absolutely sure the MAF plug is seated completely, too.  I unplugged mine once when taking out the airbox to swap headlights and didn't get it plugged back in all the way.  Drove me nuts for a couple days trying to figure out what was wrong.
