Purchased a 04 chevy for my son and later found out the engine was swapped with an 06. Check engine light comes on as well as service brake booster display....throws codes for knock sensors.

I replaced the knock sensors myself along with pcv valves and anything else that was throwing codes and lights never went off even after hard reset... took it to a shop who said it was due to the computer not matching up from engine to truck... so paid to reprogram it for the engine specifically thru the shop.... 2 days later engine light comes on and they say they dont know how to fix it.... anyone have any info that could help me is greatly appreciated.

The 04 and 06 have the same engine. I just put a 01 block in my 06. The computer just reads sensors, it has no clue the difference between an 04 block and an 06. Did they try and use the 06 computer in the 04?
