Sorry.... I just realized you posted that before. Been a long week!

I not sure where to look for the BCM connector, can you help me out?
White connector under your dash. Driver's side.

It's where the green wire is going into.

1 row of pins. 3 Over. It's one of the two gray wires in this connector.

I am, I was wondering why my dash cam was cutting on and off, it doesn't happen every time though.

Hoping you might be able to help.

I have the same Opt 7 kit as you.  I have a spade powering it and connected to the open prong next to the 50.  That works fine.

I ran the aux wire from the Opt7 control box to the grey wire in the BCM and T tapped into it as I want the lights to power on and off with dome.

I have everything connected and grounded properly, but can’t get the dome feature to power on and off with this kit.

what am I missing?  Do I need a different power source since this one is switched.  Super frustrated.

You mentioned  adding relays for your footwell leds. Is it really necessary with such low current draw?

I still can’t get them to come on and off with the door.  I’ve tried everything.   I have to manually switch them off as they come on every time when I open the door.

I just bought the Opt7 kit. Did you ever figure out how to get it on/off with the domes? I definitely want it coming on when I open the doors but don’t want them on all the time while driving

I'm lost. I have the Opt7 kit fully wired in. Connected the accessory wire to the grey wire (dome light) on the driver side. I tried every spade connector on the passenger fuse box. There's one that's RAP and a few others that are always hot. I want the lights to come on when I open the door or the dome light comes on. With the RAP power, it only comes on if the vehicle is on. With the always hot connections, the lights stay on constantly. There has to be a spot in the fuse box that's door/dome activated... I love the lights but I need a way for them to come on with the dome/door without running all of the power off of that 24 gauge grey wire on the plug...

Yes i have as well, only with my Roof mounted dvd player i installed. my radar detector doesnt shut of thou, so its probably just a drop in voltage causeing the shut off. not a full discharge of power. I just got the Autostop Eliminator and will hope this will just cut the problem out all together as i dont want that feature anyways. save on gas milage my ...

Hooked mine up last night. Wired them into the dome lights. Thanks Smoothbassman!

I installed some RGB footwell lights this weekend (picture forthcoming) and part of the project involved locating a switched power source and preferably one with retained accessory power.  In the right fuse panel (passenger side) by fuse F27 which is a square shaped fuse, there is an additional prong next to it that will accept a spade connector which you can then run a wire to a separate fuse for whatever you are installing.  I hope this helps someone else since wiring diagrams are not readily available on the net yet.  Enjoy!

Thank you for taking the time to post your suggestion.  My 2015 Silverado did not have the panel on the passenger side  so I was unaware it even existed. My dash cam now works as it should.

Hey guys not sure if your still trying to figure this out but I have the same kit as you. If you want he lights only to come on with dome lights you just connect the power wire to the pin for the domes on the bcm. If you want it to come on when you enter and exit but also want it on while your driving you run the power wire through the grommet to the engine bay and wire it to the purple wire on your headlight harness. That is the parking lights wire. Then run the accessory wire to the dome light wire in the bcm. This is the way I have mine set up. It took me a while to figure it out. For some reason when you try hooking your power wire to the bcm headlight wire it doesn’t do anything. So if anyone is still looking to do this and want it to work this way. This is the way to do it. No relays needed as this kit has a control box. If anyone needs help just message me.

I haven’t messed with mine since the original install, but I really want mine to come on during door open/close and while driving. That setup sounds like exactly what I want. Do you have pictures of where on the BCM it connects? I’m sure I can find the purple headlight wire but I’ve had a hell of a time finding the dome wire, especially since online diagrams are sparse. It would be awesome if you did a short writeup based on the wires you tapped. Thank you for the update, you’ve re-piqued my interest!

    • Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!
    • I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

    • Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.
