Cracked Dash

My 08 Denali has just developed a crack in the dash from the left front corner of the passenger airbag door to the front of the dash. I have read where this is pretty prevalent on GMT900's.

There seems to be a bulge under the dash at this point. Don't know if it could be the airbag. I have not been able to have the airbags replaced under recall since GM seems to not have any...whats with this? This dates back to 2016!!

Anybody have this same problem? How did you correct it? Was the dealer any help?

You'll get absolutely no help, especially on an 08 model.  The dash on my '10 cracked about 1500 miles out of warranty and GM offered to pay for half and me pay for half, with no warranty on replacement dash.  The issue is due to shoddy engineering...there's no reinforcing "ribbing" at the stressed locations on the bottom side of the dash (corners of passenger airbag and just left of center on the arch over the steering wheel).  If the dash went 10 years without cracking, consider yourself lucky.  There was a facebook page about the cracked dashes and a class action lawsuit...I don't know if it's still around or not.  I sold my 10 and got my dad's 3500HD Sierra Denali when he passed away earlier this year, and this $65000+ truck has the crack at the airbag and on the steering wheel arch.

Had my 07 Denali's replaced about 4 years ago and it cracked again about 2 weeks ago.  Just get a dash mat and then it's out of sight and just live with it.  The issue is like CRP757 said.

The new dash covers have braces in all the spots they crack.

Yes I have had the issue. There is a large Facebook group you may want to search for if you are on there.

Out of warranty no help. I got a DashSkin.
