iPhone XR Wireless Charge

I have a 2017 Sierra with the wireless charge center council. I just ordered the upgrade kit for the wireless charge module and now need to upgrade my phone. Will the iPhone XR fit on the center council and charge with a case or with out? I want to make sure I get a phone that will fit on there.

My 7plus fits fine too. I put a wireless charging case on my phone and it works fine with my wireless charging pad I made for the center console.

My note 8 only hits without a case and super tight. I want the new note9 but then I will need the size larger console pocket.

Iphone XR with a Speck case will not lay flat but will charge. While you you have the lid apart to do the conversion turn the phone pad around 180 degrees. You'll have to cut the little alignment nub off of the pad but it won't make a difference. This will put the charge coils and the phone in a better position to charge.

So it depends on what trim you have there is a whole kit for bench seats. But For the center console there is a replacement trim that is larger as well it is a one piece. Meaning the "floor" is part of the trim and tray and is thinner. It is made from black abs plastic that was CNC machined out.

For the life of me I can't find it. And of of all the chances in the F**king world I droped my phone and cracked the front screen, rear glass was replaced 2 days ago. SO little over $1000 I get the NOTE 9 in the morning so if it doesn't fit I will order the new trim piece.

Basically like this. and you can mod or make a upper trim. It would take no time to machine it out on a bridgeport. If my note doesn't fit I will order the abs and start up the Machine. Simple but also note I may be able to make it thin enough to have a thin case and charge through all of it, impossible to say for sure till I try. Well I go get new phone tomorrow.

I have the same model 2017 , I ordered the new wireless kit with its harness to replace the one in the car , my phone is 8+ with a full cover case ( so it is a big phone and will not fit ) but still it charges very good even with the case on and it is not sitting 100 % in the its place .

Wireless charging in the trucks is ointless. It is a slow charger and you can't use Android Auto or CarPlay with it

I just picked up a 18 GMC Crew Cab SLT bucket seats and floor console with the Wireless Charging and my iPhone 10r is too large for charging pad. I think I will just use charging cable thru the cut out by console handle .

Or upgrade the module there is another part number for a different piece. Honestly I thing the fast charge wireless striped down and installed is the best option. I got my new phone today Note9 with case and the case blocks the fit so I will order a larger trim monday.

No. If you can't use Android Auto (or CarPlay) what's the point? If I'm taking the time to pull my phone out of my pocket, I might as well spend the extra 1-2 seconds so I can actually make good use of it in the truck.

Now if there becomes a retrofit for wireless Android Auto (or when Apple copies it in 2-3 years and claims they created it) then wireless charging will make sense. Until then, totally pointless.

I just saying it you have or want the charger to work or work better it's a option. I only like Android Auto more google maps as I'm to lazy to type it into the nav. And my nav was just updated last week.
