Keone78 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 What’s up guys ?! Hopefully this forum is still active . I have a 2015 Silverado 4.3 ecotech . What’s the best exhaust set as far as sound ? I want to “try” and achieve that deep rumble . I’ve seen videos on YouTube but looking for opinions . I know a lot of ppl use Flowmaster 40 series . Thanks
AtlasFBG2 Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I put MBRP cat back on my 4.3 Search the forum here. There is a couple post about different v6 exhaust and sound clips.
Nitrousbird Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Stock. That motor will sound like garbage with anything else. Fact not opinion. Not a good sounding motor.

Thanks 40 series is a noisy can. Good but won't be enjoyed. Even Flow masters quietest muffler is still noisy. I run a 50 delta on my other truck and it sounds good but not deep. Maybe that is the nature of a chambered muffler. My personal opinion is that magnaflow and borala make deeper notes. I ran a glass pack and a muffler on many V6 engines and mufflers with fiberglass tend to sound deeper to my ear.

You will get a drone on everything, you will get less drone with a fiberglass packed muffler. In addition you can keep the muffler as far from the cabin as possible and wrap the pipe going back to the muffler. The long piping increases Drone. Additionally run the exhaust pipe out of the back and do not dump in front of the wheel. If you get super serious you can add noise cancellation material to the cab, but I'll tell you from experience that that is a lot of money to spend for little sound damping.
Keone78 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 I feel you on the cost of sound dampening . Just sucks that you can’t really achieve that V8 sound . I love my truck , even the salesman was like like yea it’s 5.3. He didn’t know the trucks even came with V6. So did I .... learn something new I guess .

Are you saying you bought a truck with a V6 thinking it was a V8?
Keone78 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 No, the salesman thought it was . I’ve been looking at Silverado’s for the past 2 months . I picked up a 2015 Double cab . I knew it was V6.

Keone78 Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 The only thing I was thinking of doing was cold air intake . Exhaust is almost a “NO” unless I hear it in person & end up liking it . Everything else I do will be cosmetic .
techsan15 Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Back in my high school days, I put 50series delta flowmasters on my 4.3 and it sounded good for what it was. My advice now that I am older is, don't do it. Spend the cash on cosmetic. It will never be a v8 nor will it ever sound like one. Just my $.02
