2018 Silverado L71 rear end bunny hop on rough roads?

Question please.

I just bought a new 2018 Silverado LT 4WD L71 off the road and I notice sometimes on rough wash board road, particularly going around a curve, it feels like the back end starts to come around.  Maybe this is what some call bunny hop?  So is this normal for off the road stiffer shocks?  any thoughts or recommendations?

Much Thanks.

Slow down. ? No, seriously, it's that or add weight in the bed.  My 18 does it, but so does my 2000 with Bilstein shocks.  Put 500 to 1000 pounds back there and it rides like an old caddy, and improves rear grip and stability.

Yup normal...  when she swings around a bit , correct the steering with the right foot ???

Wait... no dont do that..  J/K ...

But yes the stock setup when off road is rough at speeds... take it slow and easy , protect yourself and the truck

Did it in my 2014 with OEM shocks.  Did it in my 2014 with Bilstein's.  Does it in my 2018 with OEM shocks.  Pretty sure it will do it when I swap the 2018 to Bilstein's too.

You mean Z71?  Yeah, the way the General tunes its Silverado and Sierra suspensions is counter to what they did with their own ZR2 and what Ford does with the Raptor.  GM puts the extra-stiff suspension on the Z71 'off-road' models that would do better with more suspension travel and compliance, softer compression and better rebound.  As you've already learned, if you play desert fore-runner and go smoking into a rough corner or on a washboard-like straightaway, you can end up off in the weeds where you maybe didn't intend to go, with this stock suspension.  Until you get used to it, lift a little on that hammer and keep the shiny side up.

Think hard 20Mercury about what Mike and the others to date are saying. Your pickup was built to haul around 2,000 # comfortably and in control (safely). To do that the springs are chosen for the trucks weight and the maximum load expected. Stiff. The shocks are valved to keep the entire mass in control. Slow. When at full load she squats to nearly level. What do you think a Buick Lacrosse would ride like over a washboard gravel road with 2,000 # of ballast in the trunk? How about that same Buick on that same road empty? Get the picture?

Rear springs in a truck are very stiff and the shocks valved slow in compression and to fast in rebound to contain weight transfer. +

Empty on a washboard at speed the rear wheels literally loose contact with the road.

Unless your ready to change spring rates and shock valving...….
