Since I am disappointed that Chevy isn't offering the red hot color in the LTZ this year and the RST cannot be ordered with the 6.2L engine...

I am very close to ordering an RST in Red Hot with the 5.3L and the Max Tow package.

Does anyone know of a shop working on a supercharger kit for the 2019 5.3L yet?  Roush has a supercharger for the 2019 Ford V8 that takes it to 600hp.

I'd be happy with 500 out of a supercharged 5.3 if I can get it.

Anyone hear any rumors?

Since people always ask for evidence of a claim.  Here is a link to a video about one of the new Roush Ford F-150s.  This video shows a 725hp one.  But, when I looked around at Ford dealer websites that have Roush trucks, I didn't see a 725hp one for sale, only the 600hp ones.

As cool as this is...  I just cannot buy a Ford...  Can't do it...

Tuning is not available for the 19s yet. So no supercharger options. My last two trucks have been 5.3s with a supercharger. One with 3.73s and the other with 4.10 gears. I will say my 19 High Country with the 6.2 and 10 speed is pretty impressive. If you can live with a different color I would suggest go test drive a 6.2.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if you call them they will tell you the kit will be available once tunes are available....

The manufacturers are getting down right pesky with the ability to tune. My understanding is that GM threatened legal action with a few major tuning manufacturers for the ZR1.....

The manufacturers act as if we dont even own these cars we've purchased anymore... Im a huge fan of the right to repair and right to modify movements.

You have no idea how quick they (GM) are to void your warranty for something as benign as a catch can.  So, it boggles my mind why they get so uptight about tuning.

Also, that callaway truck, no way it will be $40k like the Roush truck.  Probably at least $60k.  No thanks.  I just want a supercharger kit for around $3k that I can install with full length headers and a tune.

Then I'll be happy.  :-)

I agree it will be expensive , I wouldn't go that route but it is an option. If you can find a 3k supercharger let me know because I will buy one asap even with tuning not available right now. I am confident that you won't find anything that cheap even going the lt4 route. It would be awesome though.

I have to agree with you, I bought the 19 LTZ with the 6.2 \ 10 and I can't imagine ever needing more, ever.   It's very impressive.   If I needed more I would get a sports car, this thing has tons of power.

How much quicker \ impressive was the supercharged 5.3 over your 6.2?  Night and day, barely noticeable or not worth the hassle?  I'm just curious.

Because of the gearing in the 10 speed I feel my 6.2 would run 0 to 60 with the 5.3 that was supercharged. The half throttle torque is also similar. Wot throttle the supercharged motor definitely takes over. My supercharged 5.3 was pushing at least another 100 hp over my 6.2 but the gearing of the 10 speed is what makes the 6.2 feel so strong.

Well, to some it may not be worth the hassle.  But, I want the color I want.  Why 'settle' when you are spending in excess of $40k for a new truck?  And as far as getting a sports car, I have one:  a 2018 ZL1 Camaro with 6 speed manual.

I just like the idea of having my truck match my car, color wise, when I am towing it to a track day.  So, if I cannot get a Red Hot colored Silverado in LTZ or High Country trim, my next best bet is to get an RST with the biggest motor available, then supercharge it.

Can't argue with that. I dig the red hot. I have a torch red C7. Hopefully it wont be to long before tuning is available then a supercharger would be a option.

So.. Why not get your LTZ/ high country in the 6.2 and have your truck painted the Red Hot Red?

Probably get the truck painted red cheaper than a supercharger.

My thoughts exactly. Seems like a much simpler solution to this small inconvenience.

    • And so you had gone through the process of registering and updating the tool and so on ?. All I can say is that on the front page as the tool fires up you go to advanced mode, then vehicle model comes up and you choose Silverado ( not the DRW or EV  since your a single rear wheel ) , then I think its choice 2 which is 07/2021 - 12/2026 ( 433mhz 13542523 ) as that is the series of tpms sensors and then go down to choice 5 which is tire type/pressure selection. Hit yes and it says to connect to OBD port and turn ignition on.    Having said this, I updated the software in my tool lately and these year range choices look different from the past due to them doing some updates it would appear and I have not connected up to the OBD port since last year so hopefully I am not in for a surprise with them screwing up the software and that it won't work on my truck anymore either.    So my question is, when you plugged into the OBD and started your truck it had that message on the Autel screen "vehicle not supported" ?. That does seem odd as tire shops would be pissed right off if hey can't use their tool on the model year after mine that in theory is supposed to be much the same truck ... unless GM did some change in the computer system to block certain things from access.
    • Understanding and using modern scan tools is its own body of knowledge. I had little hope that would work...programming access to the BCM is probably required and that is not easy for us consumers. Expensive scan tool, GM programming subscription, online authentication, etc.   It also may be a matter of finding the right dealer to program it for you. Flashing a modern BCM might be a little too advanced for most tire shops.
    • Update for anyone following:    Installed everything as shown in diagram. Opted for 8 AWG from Battery Positive to a 50A resettable inline breaker. 8 AWG is tied into to 2x 12 AWG wires feeding a 6 way fuse bus in parallel (manufacturer’s design of what I purchased).    4 of the 6 fuses available for circuits are tied to terminal 30 of each relay. I tied a jumper from one of my spare circuits off the bus to terminal 86 of each relay. The trigger, terminal 85, was pulled from my interior by way of T-Taps from the X61A-X5 pins 10, 11, 17 and 23. This was the hardest part of the job. Even with the X61A unbolted and the X5 removed - there was VERY little wiggle room.  I added back up lights that I want to come on with my cargo lamp - but when I would check continuity between S48A-X1 pin 18 to its respective landing point on the X61A-X5 it triggers the factory relay… Instead I opted for a add-a-fuse on the passenger interior fuse panel (fuse location 10 - cargo lamp) and ran it through the boot on the driver side to my load. Did this to avoid introducing any electrical gremlins.   Note: Please check for continuity between the S48A-X1 and the X61A-X5. In my case wire colours were not the same as other’s who have posted. To do a continuity check you need a Multimeter. Completely disassemble the S48A-X1 and remove the brown face plate off the X61A-X5 by way of a flat head screwdriver - this was the only way I could get any results.   The outputs, terminal 87 of the relays, were fed into a junction box and landed at Individual studs and were labelled Aux 1-4.    At this point, all you need to do is run wire to your loads and bring them to ground. I created a negative bus in the engine bay, all my negatives land here.    For anyone having issues with all of your new aux switch lights coming on with the press of one - I noticed this only to be an issue when the battery wasn’t hooked up to my relays? No idea why, but it was quickly corrected by having my system buttoned up and functional.
    • Well I ordered the Autel ts508, and it won't work on my truck I tried all the 2023 and everything it just says vehicle not supported lol   I'm able to send this unit back, so I'm going to do that, then I'll just stop into a some tire shops and if none of them are able to do it, I guess ill have to spend a bunch of money to get a good scanner..... Thanks GM lol
    • Don't need the air tube but that's how everyone sells them. Most places won't remove that one piece and sell it alone. No money to be made. Hoping someone swapped theirs out for a CAI and no longer wants it. Not asking anyone to give it away. Offering to buy it but I don't need the tube. It's held on by a hex head screw and nut. Been all over eBay.
